Meet Melissa LaRue, our amazing Bookkeeper at Concepts! Melissa has been part of our team since June 2020, and we truly don't know what we'd do without her.
Melissa keeps our financial world running smoothly by managing invoices, payments, expenses, reports, payroll, taxes — and even jumping in to help with admin or HR tasks when needed. She describes bookkeeping as a puzzle, and she loves when all the numbers finally click into place. 🧩
Her journey with Concepts started in a unique way. She and her husband bought a house that needed a kitchen remodel and found out their neighbor owned a cabinet company. After speaking with the owner, he learned that Melissa had bookkeeping experience and he needed some assistance with his books! She has been with Concepts ever since, and we're grateful for her every day.
Over the years, Melissa's role has grown from billing support to taking over full bookkeeping responsibilities when the previous bookkeeper retired in 2023. Her dedication, attention to detail, and steady reliability make a huge impact behind the scenes.
Melissa lives by two powerful beliefs:

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys gardening, crocheting, caring for house plants, reading and listening to audiobooks, and volunteering with the Girl Scouts.
Fun facts about Melissa:
She's lived in seven different states: California, Illinois, Alabama, Florida, Minnesota, Wisconsin and finally landed in Indiana.
Her favorite music is 90s-2000s rock and alternative. 🎶
If she won the lottery, she'd pay off her car, fund retirement, take a family vacation - and save the rest (we love that practical mindset!).
