🌟The move🌟

I’m fortunate to have a nicely equipped shop with a collection of wood to repurpose.

I then have an old hog barn. Yep. Not kidding.

It is my She Shed or Hawg Haus (=Hog House). That’s where the finish work occurs. The magic, if you will. It is NOT a store front. It is my inventory storage and my work space.

It is pretty comical when the woodworking and repairs are completed in the shop, and the piece needs to be moved.

This oak bench was kinda bulky and heavy for me to lift up to my pickup. Meh. It was easier to do the hillbilly thing.😂😂

🌟A-V-A-I-L-A-B-L-E farmhouse bench🌟

Well, a church pew is out of my storage area, but I’m fried. 🙃. Thanks on this one hubs.

*seat angle recut
*notches in seat at sides
*recutting the arms to fit the angle
*tedious mounting of legs to level
*sanding

Rear legs and arms were inspired by Ironworks on Pinterest, but tweaked and drawn by Hawg Haus. They were band-saw cut then sanded and sanded. Local note: I ended up with George Vandergriff’s band saw. Janice-Tim Knapp. Thank goodness. ♥️

Mr Vaughn's Paint Emporium encourages mixing their colors to get exactly what you want. I added a bit of their gray, Moonstone, to tone down their pure white, Howlite. I used it to whitewash the oak pew as well as paint then distress the legs and skirt. Clear coat all over. Paint from the collection by Diamond H Designs.

These are one of my favorite style of chairs with the bar across the back—also very generous and comfy.

The bench has a birch top—trying my best to match that ever-popular table top of Malaysian wood.

🐷Piggy Pointers🐷

Reminders!!

If you have any Hawg Haus painted or refinished pieces, these are my recommendations.

🐷Dust with a soft or microfiber cloth, spritz the cloth with water to dampen if you like.

🐷When the piece is clean, use Howard’s Feed-n-Wax to provide a protective layer as needed between dusting. Follow the directions. Howard’s is available locally, in Atwood, at Browns True Value Hardware.

🐷Pled*e on furniture layers it with silicone and will eventually deteriorate your finish. Any finish. Just switch to Howard’s. Follow the directions.

🐷Antique spruce up? Howard’s!

🐷Cleaning a table top after meals? A dish cloth is fine. Rinse it out well and wring out excess water. Wipe the table down then dry with a towel. When a drop of water does not bead up… Howard’s!!
