Hi My Friends,
I wanted to give you an update this morning.
Surgery was completed and now I am in recovery.
They removed most of the infection and had to remove some bone that was affected.
The wound will remain open and unfortunately bone is exposed while this part of the recovery move forward. So they wrap my foot and Wound Care will pay attention to this so it doesn’t get infected again.
They had to make sure that they find out exactly what bacteria was deep inside of my foot. There were several on the surface that they were able to identify and kill.
But there was one that’s life-threatening deep inside my foot.
The doctors from Infectious Disease of Georgia we were able to identify this bacteria yesterday.
All of my antibiotics have been changed to attack this. I am on 24 hour antibiotics, as well as breathing treatments and other medications.
They have also inserted a Picc line to my heart to help with medication.
I don’t have a date for release yet but I do know that I’m going to be going to a rehab rehabilitation center after this.
I wanted to thank everybody for their messages and prayers and donations. Please help if you can.
Every little bit will help me, because I am starting from rock bottom now. And this is the 2nd surgery in 3 weeks and 3 out of the last five weeks I’ve been in the hospital. The first surgery happened at Northside Hospital Atlanta the second surgery happened here at Emory Saint Joseph.
They are supposed to bring a surgery shoe for me today and I may possibly try to walk with the walker soon. 🙏🏻
Please feel free to reach out to me anytime.
I haven’t had any visitors.
I’m at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta Georgia - room 428.
Sincerely
Ron Gossett
