Oh my Dear Shiny Ones .... I struggle with this one all of the time. I'm working on it, but it's a challenge sometimes isn't it? Let's agree to focus on our own voice and have it drown out the negative voices and thoughts, and let that light in us SHINE ... we can do this

Oh Shiny ones isn't that the truth ... I have learned that it is wise for me to let the tears come and flow ... I need to let the energy of the sadness travel through in order for it to clear out and leave space for other thigs ... like JOY

BE THAT WOMAN

Be the kind of woman you want to call when things go wrong.
Be the motivator, the encourager of dreams.
Be the kind of fierce friend you want to have yourself.
Love your girlfriends deeply, they are your sister warriors in this world and only they know just what a crazy, hormonal ride womanhood really is.
Be loyal, love hard.
Be a soulmate, be a sister.
Be strong, be kind.
Listen hard and laugh lots.
Tell the truth but keep the secrets.
Big up everyone you meet.
Kind words travel endlessly.
If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all.
Spread the sparkle of a smile and a compliment whenever you can.
There is room for us all to be happy and successful.
Lend a hand if you’re there already.
Pull your girls up.
Push them if you need to.
Straighten each other’s crowns, spot the lipstick on the teeth and the loo paper on the shoes.
Avoid the drama, smile at the haters, they’re actually admiring you from afar.

❤ ❤ ❤ CALLING ALL MY SUCCULENT WILD WOMEN ❤ ❤ ❤
The colorful quote below is from the book ... "Succulent Wild Woman" by SARK which is celebrating it's 25th Anniversary. I actually thought it had been around longer ... and it's weirdly coincidental that it's the same year my mom died

I first came to know of SARK at a Weight Watchers class ... yah strange right? This wonderful woman got up and shared it with all of us by reading it out loud. She was this elegant older African American woman and she sold it in her reading and I knew right then that I wanted to live my life juicy and eat mangoes naked. There was something in her reading that evoked the image of pulp and juices of those mangoes running down your face and hands and living in the moment enough to not worry about the juices going everywhere and being a sticky mess ... the message was WHO CARES!!!!!!!???? STAY IN THE JUICY MOMENT!

Here's the thing though ... the flip side of it ... the thing we sometimes do to ourselves and other women project onto us
I was getting a special token that meeting. You used to (I don't know if they still do this) give a token or pin when you reached the milestone of losing 25 pounds. I didn't even know that ahead of time so it hadn't been on my radar at all. I hadn't built it up in my mind, wasn't looking forward to that moment, had no knowledge that it was even a thing. BUT it was .... and me and another woman were going to get the token at the end of class in front of everyone else.

Soooo ... the leader of the class calls us both up. She asks the other lady first how long it had taken her to lose the 25 pounds, and I think she may have said a year. She was a middle aged woman and looked to me as if she had never been heavy in her life ... she just had that appearance of being a woman with a small frame and never carried a lot of weight, but I had never seen her before that day. Everyone clapped and we were all excited and proud for her.
Then the leader of the class came to me ... I was (in memory but maybe I was older) mid to late 20's and had always been heavy. So the leader asked me how long it had taken me to lose the 25 pounds ... I reluctantly said 6 weeks. GASP AND DAGGERS OF HATRED came out of these women's eyes. And I just started backpedalling and making excuses like we do ... saying things like "Well I have A LOT to lose so that's why this first 25 pounds went so fast" and things of that sort, in a desperate attempt to make everyone feel better and not look so frickin' angry or with such hatred at me.

It was horrible

And I NEVER went back to that meeting EVER AGAIN

to be continued (had to break for the doorbell)

One of the things that makes me so sad about this (and there are many) is that we didn't all get to be supportive of each other and revel in the success of each one of us there ... we all had our journey, we all had our glory and failures and stumbles and magic ... why couldn't we all just live our JUICY LIVES and be Succulent Wild Women together?

Such a shame that moment was lost

BUT ... it reinforced in me how important it is to celebrate EVERYONE ... and to tell them, as often as I can, just how frickin' amazing they are.

SO, to those ladies in that Weight Watchers meeting ... I hope you are well, I hope you have had many wild and succulent and juicy moments in your lives and cheers to every moment of success you have had. Thank you for teaching me such a valuable and important lesson ❤ ❤ ❤

AND ... to all of my Succulent Wild Women that I get to travel this life with? I see you, I honor you and I adore you for EXACTLY who you are. LIVE JUICY!!!!!! ❤ ❤ ❤
