Monday Journal ✨
This is what building something looks like… step by step, day by day. The work nobody sees but you. The endless to-do lists, checkpoints, ideas, and systems that somehow need to come together.
But honestly? It doesn’t feel like work.
I’m so passionate about what I’m building that the process itself is fun. Yesterday, I took breaks to walk through the garden, walk the dogs, chat with neighbors, and enjoy the quiet moments. Yet I kept finding myself drawn back to the screen, the list, and the vision.
The kids spent the day at the with their cousins, so I had a rare gift: an entire day to work and enjoy it. I even opened the shop for a bit and welcomed visitors passing through town. One couple told me they’ve been coming through Asheboro for over 20 years on their way to the beach, and yesterday was finally the day they stopped downtown and I just happened to be open on a Monday… imagine that! I have a feeling they’ll be regulars now.
It’s amazing what can happen when you simply do the next thing and choose what feels a little out of the ordinary.
What I’m trying to build is bigger than me. Bigger than a store. Bigger than what Asheboro has seen before. I’m creating something that connects people, supports local businesses, and brings all these moving pieces together in a meaningful way.
I believe people will join me. I believe they’ll want to be part of it.
Because life is too short to spend doing things you don’t love.
The systems, automations, processes, and foundations may not be glamorous, but they’re what make something bigger possible.
So that’s what Monday looked like.
And I’m not mad about it. ✨
