✨ Another custom transformation complete at The Restore Barn! ✨

This beautiful antique drop-front secretary desk received a full refresh while keeping the character and charm of the original piece.

The wood portions were completely sanded down and restained, bringing out the gorgeous natural grain and giving the wood a rich new finish. We paired it with a classic black painted finish for a beautiful contrast.

Our customer had seen the antique lace decoupage we used on one of our previous dresser makeovers and loved it, so she requested the same look for her desk. We incorporated it onto the writing surface, creating a beautiful hidden detail that’s revealed when the desk is opened. 🖤Thank you Sue McMurry Abrahamson! for trusting us with your beautiful piece! Both pieces belonged to her parents and deserved some much-needed love. 🤍

This armoire needed quite a bit of work, but she wanted to preserve as much of its original character as possible while giving it a fresh new look. I absolutely love how the natural wood and painted finish came together.
