Hi friends!!!

It's been awhile since I posted. Just busy working on things and still remodeling the house.

Right now I'm flipping my son's old bedroom. I have a tight budget (less than $200 for the entire room) but I still want something cozy and inviting. Something with a little color.
Most of my house has a Joanna Gaines-Magnolia-Boho feel going on. For this makeover I'm getting a little girlie. That's right.. bring on some pinks and muted greys!

Thought I would share my fake-over for this Overstock.com floral that I love. The original cost $164. Yes..that's right. $164.

I created the fake while using florals and colors that go with the room vibe. Best thing?? It only cost me $15 to make this.....$12 for the florals at Michaels and $3 for this cute little boho pot in the dollar spot at Target.

Don't be afraid to recreate a piece you love only on the cheap! You might actually like the end result even better 😊

Vintage Mid-century modern solid maple dresser. The top is finished in farmhouse grey stain and sealed with a water based poly. The base is a Linen white chalkpaint also sealed with a water based poly. Includes original restored chrome pulls. Dimensions are as follows: 50 in wide, 32 in tall, and 18 in deep.

Happy 2021 everyone! How are things going?
For me personally.. busy! I'm still holding down a full time job that I love and doing house reno. You would think we'd be done by now but nope!!! No bank loan here to fund it so we just have to do a little at a time.
Thought I would share my current project...our fireplace flip. To say it was disgusting would be an understatement. The amount of ni****ne residue that I cleaned out of it was just gross!! (See the paper towel pic).
Since the bank stripped the house of everything valuable when they foreclosed on it, this means they removed the gas logs. And since the insert is older, I have never found a set that fits. So I decided to prime the inner bricks to make them white again. Then I used steel wool to sand the outer insert and sprayed it with high heat black spray paint. Which turned out pretty good but I still didnt like the plain look.
I ordered a custom stencil from Stencil Revolution and after watching a million YouTube videos about it I finally bit the bullet, primed the stained marble, mixed up 2 custom colors and got to stenciling. Originally I had planned to stencil both the surround and the hearth but I have since changed my mind and have another project to do to the hearth.
Hubby helped me pick out a chalk paint color (we used Dixie Belle's "Hurricane Grey"...not loving this paint too much but I'll live lol) and I started painting the primed mantle. I'm not done yet with the second coat but here's a few progress pics to keep you busy until I can post more.

Hello it's been awhile friends!!! I hope this message finds everybody safe and well.

Over the past few weeks... I've had quite a few people call or message me about doing their furniture. Please know that I am NOT doing furniture any longer because I work a regular 40 + hr a week job. I am concentrating on my health and my family. There are no "side jobs" that I'm taking. As for the future, I can't predict it. Who knows...maybe I'll pick it up again at a later date. But for now I've put my paintbrushes to rest. I appreciate all of the warm memories and joy that the shop caused. I hope everyone that visited felt how deeply we cared about your pieces and each and every one of you. Saying goodbye was the hardest thing and I miss our shop days dearly.
