There has now been a reported case of eastern equine encephalitis in Arcadia! Unvaccinated horses have a 90% mortality rate, and treatment for the disease is aggressive, expensive, and only effective in 10% of horses.
This disease is easily avoided with a simple vaccination that is inexpensive and there have been no cases of vaccinated horses contracting the disease....

Update- State vet just said Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi are not requiring coggins or health certificate but only these 3 states. If you are going anywhere else you will have to have both. This is just to leave Florida as for your destination they will most likely need a coggins.
