THE SECRET TO A BEAUTIFUL FALL MANTEL? 🍂
You don’t need a huge decorating budget to make your home feel incredible for fall. There’s actually a pretty simple formula designers use to make a mantel look layered, cozy and pulled together instead of cluttered.
And I’m sharing it with you. 👇

🤎 STEP 1: CHOOSE YOUR FALL VIBE
Before you buy anything, decide on your direction:
🍂 Cozy Rustic
🤍 Warm Neutral
🧡 Vintage Fall
🌿 Natural + Organic
🖤 Moody Autumn
🪞 STEP 2: START WITH ONE FOCAL POINT Try a large mirror, fall landscape, oversized wreath, vintage window or statement piece of artwork. This is your anchor. Think BIG first
🕯️ STEP 3: ADD HEIGHT
Tall candlesticks, lanterns, branches, dried grasses and fall stems instantly make a mantel more interesting.
🍁 STEP 4: LAYER THE MIDDLE
Now start filling in with smaller pieces:
• Vintage books
• Amber glass
• Small pottery
• Framed art
• Wood accents
🎃 STEP 5: BRING IN FALL
Add pumpkins in different sizes, fall florals, acorns, etc. But remember…You do NOT have to cover every inch of the mantel.
🧺 STEP 6: ADD TEXTURE
Mix chunky wood, woven baskets, aged brass, terracotta, linen and natural stone.
✨ STEP 7: ADD WARMTH
Flameless candles + lanterns + amber glass + warm twinkle lights = instant cozy fall atmosphere.
🍂 STEP 8: DON’T FORGET BELOW THE MANTEL
Try a large woven basket with a chunky blanket, stacked firewood, a floor lantern, a vase filled with branches or a few oversized pumpkins.
🤫 OKAY… NOW I’LL LET YOU IN ON ONE OF MY DESIGNER SECRETS.
One of the hardest parts of styling a space is finding those little pieces that make it feel FINISHED.
And when I’m looking for something that doesn’t feel mass-produced or like I’ve seen it in a hundred other houses, there’s one place I always seem to find exactly what I need…
Rustic & Reclaimed Market in downtown Antioch, IL. 🤎
It’s honestly one of my favorite little designer treasure troves. You might be surprised what you find. 😉
