Hi, and welcome to Page Winter Studio, located in in Annapolis, MD. I've been lucky enough to be married to my wonderful husband for 10 years (he's also my furniture repair guy!), and with my two and his three, we have five children together ranging from 19 - 30. My family is the joy of my life, and I was grateful to be able to be a stay- at home- mom during my kids' teenage years, but I wanted
and needed something more. Then, in perfect timing, just as my youngest was finishing high school, I discovered painting furniture. It started when my husband and I put our home on the market and I began painting our furniture to stage the interior for photos. After a short time what started as a necessity quickly became a passion and I couldn't stop! I began buying pieces and selling at a local store and have been honing my techniques along the way, loving every minute of it. I love color, the layering and combining of colors to create depth and richness, achieving fine lustrous finishes, and at times using collage or decoupage to make each piece unique. I also enjoy working with different styles of furniture, from vintage to mid century modern, antique or downright funky. Your home is an expression of your heart and soul and for me, redecorating and painting my furniture transformed the way I felt. I actually felt happier in my own home. There is a wonderful quote from Melodie Beattie (author of Journey to the Heart")She says, "Fill your life and your world with the colors, textures, scents and objects that are beautiful to you, that have meaning to you. Remember that we are connected to our environment. The objects and the colors in our world have energy and meaning. they have an impact on us." I believe this to be true. I love being able to take these old pieces of furniture that are so well made, that have a history, but are no longer appealing, and transform them into something current and beautiful. The best compliment from my customers is " It just makes me happy". My goal is to create furniture that touches your heart ...a jewel for your home that makes you happy.
