We would like people to be aware that there is a salt shortage in the Northeast as well as other parts of the country. As a result, the Town of Andover will do its best to salt the main roads, although sparingly, and apply sand to the side roads. Please drive safely.

Due to unforeseen prep work for paving, Weston Andover Road will be closed as of 4pm today through noon tomorrow from Horseshoe Acres Campground to North Hill. When the road reopens tomorrow it will be one lane alternating traffic with flaggers.

Weston Andover Road will be closed on Wednesday, August 27th & Thursday, August 28th from Horseshoe Acres Campground to the intersection with Middletown Road for paving to begin. Detour signs are in place.

Vermont Extends Ban on Debris Burning for Four Southern Counties
No Burning Permits Shall Be Issued in Bennington, Rutland, Windham, and Windsor Counties

Montpelier, VT – The ban on debris burning issued on October 28 by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks, and Recreation (FPR) has been extended in Bennington, Rutland, Windham, and Windsor Counties. Persistent dry conditions in the southern portion of the state, high winds, an abundance of fuel, and regional drought have created an elevated risk for wildfires. This ban will end on November 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM.

From the Commissioner of the Department of Forest, Parks, & Recreation: There will be a burn ban in effect beginning today (Nov 11th) at 3:00 p.m. for one week. The order may be revoked or extended depending on weather conditions.
