This wood left the customer’s property as a log from an ash tree that was taken down to make way for a new lake house and was returned to the same property to be used as a bar table in a rec room. The live edge top measures 42” x 8ft and the table stands 36” tall.
Ash is a beautiful hardwood. Unfortunately the ash trees are disappearing fast so take advantage of using it while we can.

A customer lost several of their yard trees in a storm last summer and wanted to save what they could of them. I milled 9 logs from those trees and they ended up with some great lumber and slabs to use for future projects! Hackberry, pin oak, and walnut.

I’ve been taking advantage of the beautiful November weather and getting as much time running the sawmill as possible. Milling some large beams for a new home is one of the jobs that I’ve recently finished. Eight 9.5” x 9.5” x 16ft plus three 12.5” x 12.5” x 11ft burr oak beams for exterior columns and ten 5” x 10” x 12ft poplar beams for interior ceiling beams.

This entertainment center with sliding barn doors was a fun project for a customer’s new home. The cabinet is made out of stained hickory and the doors are natural hickory. Overall this unit measured about 8ft tall by 10ft wide. Behind the doors in the center section is an open area for a TV.

Do you have a tree in your yard or on your family farm that needs to come down and you’d like for it to be turned into lumber or made into a piece of furniture? I’m now offering custom saw milling and would be happy to talk to you about milling your log!
Most milling jobs are just one or two logs but the pictures are of 13 walnut logs that a customer harvested off of their property and dropped off to be milled. They wanted half of it cut into 4/4 dimensional lumber and the other half cut into thicker live edge slabs.
You can look forward to seeing some more sawmill content mixed in here and there in the future!
