Alton Refrigeration and Home Furnishings began operation in 1931 at 550 East Broadway in Alton, Illinois. The company remained at this site until 2007 when operations were moved to 2996 Homer Adams Parkway in Alton, Illinois. The new site provides over 26,000 square feet of showroom floor. r excellent service, competitive pricing and quality products. The company's continued success and survival through time and economic situations is a direct attribute to a multi generation and very loyal company base. In 1952, the company became the sole proprietorship of the Crane family. Much of the company growth came under the leadership of William and Margie Crane. They remained an active force in the business until their deaths in 2003 and 2005. Today the company still remains a family operated Corporation with William E. Crane as owner and President. His youngest son, John Crane is the Company Vice President, while the oldest son Gary Crane is the Secretary/Treasurer. As well as employing four full time salespersons, a parts and service manager, two service technicians, several administrative and office positions in addition to several part time workers. Over many years of service to the community our motto has remained "Buy with Confidence."
