I used stains that I matched to the current stains and I am so pleased with the results! I used poly to seal each piece and preserve my work. 🥰

Strip. Sand. Stain. Repeat…

I’m in love! This gorgeous all wood table came in “yellow” with a heavy high gloss varnish…my client wanted a totally different look so I stripped her down to the wood grain and applied a 70/30 mix of “weathered oak” and “classic grey”…😍

I then sealed it with sanding sealer using 3 coats “transparent” flat finish and I sanded with a 220 then 400 grit in between each coat…this piece is giving Restoration Hardware vibes…

So pleased with how she turned out…this sweet girl heads home Wednesday!

Cheers to this sweet Queen Anne vintage end table or nightstand…depending on how creative you’re wanting to be! 😍

I completely stripped this piece using and sanded it starting from an 180 up to a 400.

I then used acetone to check for imperfections and to remove all the dust from the sanding. Acetone is a must when working with stripping wood because it will show you areas that need to be stripped again…plus it dries in seconds. 😁

I finally sealed this sweet piece using Paste Finishing Wax in their “Natural “ shade. I did t need to stain this at all. I just love when the wood…is wood! 😂

Oh mahogany-how do I love thee!!! 😍

There is one type of wood that no matter how much you strip it-it will still have a red/pinkish tint. So to tone some of that down I completed a “black-wash” on this beautiful desk.

I know white-washing is so popular and I do it often-but a huge “no-no” to working with this type of wood is to white wash it. It’s such a rich wood that it truly speaks for itself. 😊

stripping solution
“Caviar” and their matte wax spray
