We were proud to celebrate Alpena Glass & Door Company with an open house and ribbon cutting to mark an exciting new chapter under new ownership.

A valued Alpena Area Chamber of Commerce member since 2010, Alpena Glass & Door has been a longtime fixture in our business community. It was great to gather with the team, community members, and supporters to recognize their history and celebrate what’s ahead.

Meet Pam Agius

Pam is an Alpena native, born and raised right here in our community, where she and her husband Phil also raised their family. Earlier this year, Pam and Phil took over ownership of Alpena Glass & Door Company, and they’re honored to carry on the legacy of a locally owned business that the Bauer family built from the ground up.

Pam graduated from Ferris State University in 1994 and spent 29 years serving the Alpena community as a dental hygienist, building relationships and caring for generations of local families.

Outside of work, Pam loves spending time outdoors and enjoying everything Northern Michigan has to offer. Whether it’s downhill skiing, mountain biking, pickleball, boating, hiking, or yoga, she enjoys staying active and making the most of time with family and friends. She also has a bit of wanderlust and especially enjoys trips out west where she can take in the fresh mountain air and wide open spaces.

Pam and Phil are excited for this new chapter and are committed to continuing the tradition of quality service Alpena has come to expect. With a knowledgeable and experienced team in place, Alpena Glass & Door looks forward to serving the community for many years to come.

Meet Brian Marek

Born and raised in Traverse City, Brian graduated from Universal Technical Institute in Glendale Heights, Illinois, where he completed the Automotive Diesel & Industrial program. He spent several years working as a diesel technician before a life-altering accident changed his path.

Since then, Brian has embraced new opportunities and found his calling in the glazing trade. Today, he’s proud to be part of the team at Alpena Glass & Door Company, where he not only brings precision and a strong work ethic to every project, but also serves as our Safety Director, helping ensure every job is done the right way.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys hunting, fishing, and hiking — and feels fortunate to call Alpena, Michigan home, where the outdoors is right in his backyard.

We’re glad to have you on the team, Brian!

Christopher Berry is a true local, born at Alpena General Hospital in 1983 and raised in the rural community of Herron, Michigan. From an early age, his parents instilled a strong work ethic — if you wanted something, you worked for it. And along the way, Christopher learned that work can actually be fun.

His first taste of business came early, baling hay with his cousin Josh on his grandmother’s alfalfa field. With some equipment, a lot of help from their dads, and plenty of effort, they got the job done and sold the hay — a lesson in teamwork and hard work that stuck.

One of Christopher’s favorite jobs was running a 1974 Steiger Bearcat II with a V8 Caterpillar engine — "We would run it wide open and it would just sing!"

After graduating from Alpena High School in 2001, Christopher was hired by Dave Bauer at Alpena Glass & Door, where his career with glass truly began. While taking night classes at Alpena Community College to study electrical work, he discovered a fascination with how things work — a curiosity that still shows up today through projects like building a custom guitar amplifier and learning bass guitar.

Though he never pursued electrical work professionally, Christopher found glass uniquely challenging — strong yet fragile if handled the wrong way — and that challenge is what kept him hooked.

2025 was a milestone year. Christopher married the love of his life, Jessica Campbell, on September 12. Just two months later, Alpena Glass entered a new chapter. He’s excited to continue working alongside Phil and Pam, and to see Joe LeFave doing a great job stepping into Dave’s former role.

Christopher is proud of where he’s been, excited about what’s ahead, and we’re proud to have him as part of the Alpena Glass & Door team.

We would like to introduce Monica Lijewski, our Office Manager here at Alpena Glass & Door!

Monica grew up in Gillette, Wyoming and made the move to Michigan in 2020. She’s a proud mom of four and loves exploring new places, making jewelry, and spending time with her husband and kids.

Since moving to Alpena just five years ago, Monica has enjoyed learning the rich local history behind Alpena Glass & Door and what the Bauer family built over the years. She’s proud to be part of continuing that legacy and is excited to see what 2026 has in store for our team and our community.

We’re excited to officially welcome Joe LaFave as the new General Manager of Alpena Glass & Door Company!

Joe was born in Simi Valley, California, but Alpena has been home since 1996 — and it’s a place he’s proud to raise his family. When he’s not at work, you’ll find Joe trout fishing in the spring, enjoying the water in the summer, and hunting in the fall. Most of all, he loves spending time with his wife and their 2-year-old son, showing him everything that makes Alpena such a great place to grow up.

Joe is an Alpena Community College alum and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Ferris State University. He brings more than 20 years of construction experience, including 12 years as a third-generation Construction Superintendent, to his new role.

“I’m incredibly proud to be part of Alpena Glass & Door,” Joe says. “Learning from Dave Bauer and being part of a company with 75 years of local history has been amazing. Serving our community has been even better than I imagined, and I’m excited to see what comes through our front door in 2026.”
