Our Story

Ok, so a little background on Purple Lilac Co .

Those that know me know I have a creative mind that I actually realized in my young childhood years. I grew up in a small rural town where we, as children, would be out playing from morning until dusk. Some might say there is nothing to do in such a rural area. Maybe to some thats true, however, I recall having fun and being creative with what was around me.

I remember making little nature scenes out of tree bark, plants, (purple lilac my favorite flower BTW) rocks, etc... and painting them and/or grinding down the the plants and flowers to be my paint. BTW, wild mustard made a beautiful yellow dye! I have, for as long as I can remember, enjoyed crafting and painting and still do to this day.

I left my small town...would have loved to go to art school but I recall everyone saying “You’ll be a starving artist...go to school for something that can make you money!“ Well, the “They-club” won and I went on to graduate in nursing and later obtained a business degree. Those two degrees helped me over the years and I even found that working as a “Wound Care Nurse” still allowed me to be a little creative in a different way.
