Voss was my mom’s nickname when she was growing up. Her maiden name was Vossler. Her father and brother were medical doctors / surgeons by trade and as a hobby they built furniture fro
m scratch. My Grandfather Poppy and Uncle Bert created stunning, beautiful furniture – I have some of their furniture pieces, in my home, today. So, as a dedication to my mother who passed away in 2023 and her woodworking-family members, Voss seemed very appropriate. It’s in my blood to do the refinishing thing. I swear it was like a light switch that just turned on. I absolutely LOVE transforming old furniture. I wake up early to plan out my next steps on my furniture design ideas and stay up late thinking about design tweaks. It’s weird how this all came about. I think I found my calling. It was a random, bizarre discovery and I can’t get enough of it. A moment of serendipity, for me. Additionally, my maternal Grandmother Gigi used to own and run a high-end boutique store in the 1970s, in Grand Bend, Ontario, Canada and it was called Serendipity. It all ties in together with my motives, desires and dedications. It's a labor of love!!
