A little job from an important institution. Six rehabilitation chairs from an Indianapolis medical facility,the arms worn from use, needed a dose of fairy dust to bring them back. Turned out pretty nice.

I had the pleasure to save and restore this rare Thonet bentwood rocker. Marked Thonet Austria and papered as a Thonet Brothers creation created in Vienna, Austria. Michael Thonet is credited with inventing the process to steam bend solid wood and to ship worldwide in disassembled form- the original IKEA before IKEA existed. This piece is in ash, an early original, as later pieces were made from beech. Turned out pretty nice

Found in the side ditch on the way to the landfill, Discarded, broken, faded and missing parts, yet this chair spoke to me. Hand made, a relic of our county’s founding. Stored 35 years in the shed, I brought it out in honor of the country’s semiquincentenniel. Repaired, the original patina restored without stain, Lookin good!
