Here's a great before and after. This antique possum belly cabinet had been painted many times. Sometime along the way a formica top was added to the work surface.
We removed the formica and restored the cabinet, so it looks better than new. It's ready for another 100+ years of enjoyment.

This was a fun project. Our first concrete table, but not our last. The tabletop is 66" long and 30" wide and 1-3/4" thick. The top is about 300 pounds sitting on a base made of Mississippi Cypress. Cypress is a great wood to work with and survives the outdoors like no other. The table and bench were sized to fit perfectly in the corner of this patio.

These three tables just went home in time for summer on the patio. We fabricated the tables using the client's felled tree. Many splits and dutchman inserts helped provide stability in order to utilize some parts of the log that otherwise would have been sawdust. Metal legs make these super strong.

We built this Art Deco style dining table for a client a few years ago. The table is solid Walnut with a bent lamination base, designed to seat six. They are relocating to a different style home and feel this table will not be the right style for their new place.

Good Evening Joe and Vivian,

Today I walked into the house after watching our daughter’s choir concert and saw the repaired chest. It looks wonderful! Thank you from the depths of my heart for repairing something that I hold dear. I know that we are not supposed to fixate on earthly “things.” But, I suppose that chest represents something intangible, and that’s what broke my heart when I saw the movers had damaged it. I know that there is always a plan, and I now know why it had to be broken. We would not have met y’all, and that would be a shame.

We don't usually post things for sale on here, but I'm making an exception. If you have a very special child, or grandchild, we have a very special rocking chair for them.
Look at the pictures below and you will see a beautiful Victorian child's rocking chair.
This chair is made of American black walnut in the late Victorian/Eastlake style. This furniture was very popular around the late 1800's.
We found this rocker in sad shape. It has been professionally restored, including regluing all the wood joints and restoring the finish. The seat and back have been hand woven in the original 7 step cane pattern. It is now in better than new condition, ready for many decades of enjoyment with someone that will appreciate it.
I'm not posting pricing information on here because I don't have time for a bunch of tire kickers. If you are truly interested in owning a piece of American history, contact me and we can discuss it.

How to make two tables out of one.
Our client who commissioned the Mappa burl coffee table from the previous post had an antique table that she loved. Although it was a great looking antique dining table, it was in pretty rough shape and not really functional as a dining table anymore. The before picture shows the original table.
She came up with a great idea to repurpose the table into two console tables that flank her fireplace. What you see in the after pictures is the result of disassembling the already loose jointed, rigged together table. Then rearranging the parts into two consoles each slightly smaller than half the original table. Once centered on the fireplace, they were attached to the wall using French cleats.
It’s fun for us to be able to help create such a beautiful room.
