Question of the month: We are planning on vacationing this summer. How can I keep my kids safe on the go?

It can be difficult to stay committed to product safety when traveling, but KID is here to help with a few tips and helpful resources.

Tip #1: Children should be in a rear facing car seat that has not been in an accident or recalled until the age of 2 or when they reach the maximum height and weight requirements. Check out SafeKids.org for more information about car seat safety.

Tip #2: Hotels and other places of accommodation had until December 28, 2012 to replace their cribs to meet the world’s toughest safety standards. Confirm your hotel has updated their cribs or bring a portable crib that has not been recalled for your baby to sleep in.

Tip #3: In 2012, KID unveiled our mobile app which allows parents to access the latest safety news, search for product recalls, and review the 3 steps to safety- all on the go. KID urges all parents and caregivers to take advantage of this safety tool while they are traveling and check all products for recalls.
