“Where have you been?”

Someone asked me recently. I appreciate that you were wondering…!

In all seriousness, it’s been a whirlwind since we completed the move to our new facility in Adel.

Working to catch up on the client project schedule, stocking the studio, upkeep at our Funky Finds booth and locating new pieces have consumed my time.

Brenda and I even managed a long overdue weekend away (first since starting this venture three years ago) and saw Billy Strings in his hometown of Ionia, MI. 🎸

So what have we been doing? Check out the video to see a few projects we’ve recently completed.

More to come, with new pieces hitting the studio soon…🙂

Hey! We have some cool news items to share:

1. There are lots of updates at Funky Finds and the MidMod Market. New vendors, updated and expanded spaces, and some new items in our booth, along with special pricing in honor of the Iowa State Fair kickoff. Come check it out!

🔆Biz Post!🔆

This week I had a new client stop by the studio looking for a dresser set. Very nice lady. As she was leaving, she said “I’m really glad to have found you and this hidden little gem of a studio!”

I thanked her and asked her to tell her friends about it.

“Oh, no. I’m keeping this to myself. I don’t want someone coming and buying the set I’m interested in.”

I laughed and said “I’ll find you another set if the one you like sells. So please, tell everyone you know. That’s how we stay in business!” (We had a good laugh together) 🙂

So remember, my friends: Good friends tell their friends about cool little locally owned shops they find.

Word of mouth is our greatest marketing tool. Tell everyone you know about your favorite businesses. It really does make a difference!!!

On a different note: Adel’s annual town celebration, the Sweet Corn Festival, is today. They cooked 70 tons of corn for it! 😳 🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽

People come from all over the Midwest, so for my first time here, I thought I’d try a pop up sale. I’ll be here until 3:30pm if you’d like to stop by.

We are in the final days of cleaning out the old warehouse by the end of July, and finding a few cool forgotten treasures tucked away here and there.

This is a reclaimed antique oak pocket door I saved from the landfill about three years ago. It was originally salvaged by a former DSM building inspector who did woodworking and cabinetry as a hobby. After he passed away unexpectedly, it sat in his sealed workshop for seven years until his wife was ready to go in his shop and start clearing things out. I bought several amazing things from her, including this door that was slated to go to the dump.

It was saved from an old DSM building or home, but unfortunately we do not know which one specifically.

It took me about 45 minutes to figure out the puzzle. All the wood parts and panels are here, and it’s in fairly decent shape.

This beautiful and unique piece is a massive 60” wide, 95” tall and 2 1/2” thick, and deserves to be in a special place.

Looking for a truly one of a kind, stately piece for your home or a special project? Asking $900 as it is, $1500 reassembled, or $2850 fully stripped and refinished.

We partnered up with The Atomic Cat to present to you this beautiful and uncommon Lane Furniture Vintage First Edition dining table and matching six chairs.

Condition: : Very Good - Tabletop is professionally refinished. There are two matching leaves included (pictures now added!)

Chairs repaired, re-glued and ready! (Normal minor wear, as expected with vintage chairs pieces.) These chairs are comfortable, stable and stylish.

This set is as comfortable to sit in as it is fun to look at and enjoy!

Top: 44” diameter and 17” wide leaves
Total with all leaves: 79”
29” tall
