Welcome to JHM Wood and Leather Crafts. We specialize in handmade leather and wood crafts. I love to do things the way the old craftsmen did, hand tools only.

After 15+ years in TV news in 2016 I set out to finally work for myself. I have always loved working with my hands and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. The hobby turned into a passion that eventually turned into JHM Wood and Leather crafts. Along the way I discovered a love for leather work and combined the two into one business. The principles are the same, the attention to fine details the same,

and honing each craft is an art in itself. Each leather item is hand cut, hand stitched, and hand finished to order. Each wood item is done with traditional hand tools from hand saws to hand planes. My motto is quality over quantity. You may not see a ton of mass produced items in my shop, but you will see meticulous, 100% hand made items just for you. I am a one woman shop everything comes directly from me. I hope you love every handmade piece I make as much as I enjoy making them for you.

I am the worst about posting to the grid 🤣 Trust me I am here and my jokes are still lame in my stories. I am here stocking up the shop for what is gearing up to be the biggest year in 10 years. All notebooks will have a matching pen/pencil case available for you to buy and make a sweet gift or to match your everyday carry in sweet sexy ass style™. Everything is 100% handmade, 100% hand stitched, and 100% made only by me. Not sure if that last point is a draw or not. Happy Saturday.

This is Lauren Hannah-Murphy 's Icelandic Instagram moment 🤣. This was an abandoned village that is now a national park that is only accessible by small boat. We took a boat from Ísafjörður. A wonderful morning.

Last order out the door and I am now ready for our Summer vacation. The shops are closed 7/6-7/21 and will reopen 7/22. Follow along for some puffin photos and maybe even a Blue whale as we enjoy Iceland and the Faroe Islands for 12 days.

Sometimes you stop everything you are doing and make your daughter a wallet. We have some trips coming up and this should hold a few things while we are away. I am 99.9% certain she will love it.

I am still here. I tend to live in my stories vs the grid. It has been a crazy first 6 months of the year. These passport covers in particular are a hit. So much so that Etsy has put them in their latest television ad. They reached out in March and I sent it off and it is now running on their new TV ads here and abroad. I don't anticipate much more sales from it since it is a flash on the screen but hey, nice to be acknowledged after 10 years of doing this full time. Sometimes I get imposter syndrome or feel I don't measure up. I don't take constant photos of glass edges. I don't take pictures in dimly lit spaces to make things feel moody. I don't constantly film every second of every day in hopes it boosts likes. I just make. Old fashioned and quiet. I post what I make in my stories for the customer to see the progress. I am waiting for my Summer quiet time to add some much needed new items to the shop so stay tuned.

It's that time of year that .leather makes me look good and like I know what I am doing. She made this amazing marbled panel that I had the pleasure to turn into a lined A5 bifold journal. The lining is mandarin orange Virgilio Margot and it is stitched with matching Vinymo thread and has a back pocket. It has solid brass eyelets for a lifetime of use. I expect this to last all of 2 hrs in the shop so--ready, set, go!

We are in our Olive era over here. Gorgeous Olive Buttero in a host of notebook sizes. A5 trifold, Midori/Travel/A5 slim size, pocket/Field Notes size, and passport size. Something for everyone in my new color way. All with solid brass grommets (these are antique brass) and tan elastic. All fit 3+ notebooks each.
