I recovered this beauty of a slab that was tossed aside by another builder, flattened, and restored to bare wood. I am enjoying integrating crystals (amethyst and quartz) into my designs. There is even an old pulley that was absorbed into the wood as the tree grew. Keeping the story of the tree is a fun part of the art.

Building with live edge slabs gives the chance to create seamless tables no matter what style your looking for. This is actually two slabs joined together. The goal is to line up the grain and create a joint that you can’t see. Finally, a sturdy base was needed to minimize any tipping for a family with small children.

Oak is the flavor of the day! These beauties came from a family tree that eventually fell. We managed these four foot diameter logs that were filled with history and sentimental importance. Though the logs showed much stress we managed to create heirloom quality tables for the family. Even the dark blue stain had sentimental importance as it was caused by a metal bolt that held a childhood swing.

It was an amazing weekend milling wood! We have so many more truly beautiful slabs is an understatement. These will go in our drying barn and then in our kiln. Come see what we have! , ,

We have launched Harford Hardwoods and have lots of amazing slabs that are ready to be sold and to create beautiful furniture with! We mill, dry, and flatten our slabs to be absolutely ready to create and build with.
I am absolutely most excited about the creative opportunity this gives me and others.
