Hello friends! It has been awhile hasn't it? Lol. I am ready for Spring! How about you? I am posting this pic of our new (antique) door to our our kitchen pantry that David just finished. I miraculously found this antique door on Marketplace that was just the perfect size. It is only 24 inches wide. I had been searching for a door to fit since we moved in over 2 years ago. It had been painted white and did not have a window but instead had 5 panels. David sanded it and stained it. He also cut out the window from 2 of the top panels and installed glass. We bought vintage looking hardware and the pantry sign to keep with the style. It is a swinging door which really adds to the convenience. I am in love with it! It looks original to the house in my opinion. Thanks David for doing a superb job! I never knew when I married him that he was so handy! Lol. Stay tuned for an announcement of an upcoming event that SMI will be a vendor at. I am busily preparing furniture and fun treasures to bring and will post pics and info soon! Have a beautiful day!

I finally finished a project today that was 2 years in the making. I found these hymnal music sheet prints a few years ago and decided I wanted to hang them in a grouping on one of the walls in my upstairs hallway. This hallway is super long and straight (I call it our bowling alley lane) and it needs something large to kinda break it up. It took a few years of estate sale searches to gather the right vintage frames to make it all work...then a trip to FRAMING MATTERS in Salina to have them professionally matted. One of them, I had to really jerry rig to get it hung properly (I am kinda proud of that one. It shows my tenacity of when I want something done I will not give up...even if I have to involve fishing line! Lol). See if you can guess which one that is? I betcha can't! I grew up Baptist and remember singing all these songs in church over the years. I love the contemporary Christian music as well but these old hymns I find so comforting. I am glad to finally get this project done!

I always get in the mood to bake this time of year. I experimented with some mini apple pies this morning. It will take a few more tries before I perfect the recipe but at least they taste good! Lol. I think I will add melted caramel to the filling and also try a cinnamon struesel topping next!

Hello friends! I have not posted in awhile. I am currently working on clearing out my booth at Mud Creek Antiques. It is sad...I have enjoyed being a vendor there and have made good friends. I will definitely still be shopping there! Lol. I have had a lot of things running through my head about how I want to handle the future of SADIE MARSHALL INTERIORS. I think I will definitely take a break for the remainder of 2022 but I don't think I can quit completely. It is just too much a part of me and brings me such joy! I will definitely be reinventing myself though. Actually, I may go back to my roots and how I started in my business...doing shows and festivals. It was a lot of hard work. I will probably focus on smaller furniture pieces and decor because it is easier to manage. I will still keep my page up as well so I can show you things I am working on and where I will be traveling to. We will see. Times are changing in this business and sometimes we need to change with them. I am normally not a person who likes change but I am also not ready to quit completely. Anyway, this morning I woke up and decided it was time for Fall at the DeBates house! I got out all my pumpkins. It makes me happy! Do what makes YOU happy! Have a great week!

Hello friends. I wanted to let everyone know that I have made the difficult decision to "take a break" from the antique business. I do not know if it will be a permanent thing or maybe just long enough to catch my breath and refocus. Since moving to Kansas, my time is filled with grandkids, maintaining an 100 year old house, gardening and growing things, and caring for an ornery miniature donkey. I still love to refinish and paint furniture but it is getting harder to find the time to do it all. I am not as young as I used to be! Lol. I wanted to thank all my loyal friends for your love and support over the years! Without you, I never would have been able to fulfill my dream of having my own small business. It gives me great pleasure to know that the pieces you have purchased from me will hopefully bring happiness for many years to come! I have enjoyed every minute of it! Don't count me out for good. I hope to continue to do occasional small shows. I just do not have the energy or desire to run a booth anymore. Please continue to follow my SADIE MARSHALL INTERIORS page. I will not post as often but I can still keep you updated on upcoming events and Kansas life in general! So that being said, I have put everything in my booth on sale for 25% off. If you have had your eye on something...now is the time to take advantage. I will still be adding new things throughout the month of August. Stay tuned and take care.
