You made changes to your SEO settings and followed all the steps on the Wix SEO Wiz. Maybe you wrote new titles and descriptions for each page, or updated some content on your About page. This can occur for a few reasons. If it happens to you, here’s what to do:
1. Make sure you’ve connected your site to Google through the SEO Wiz
Doing so will ensure that Google scans and indexes the most recent
version of your homepage. Learn how here.
2. Submit your sitemap to Google
If you’ve recently made changes to your site, take a few minutes to resubmit your sitemap directly to Google. This will invite them to drop by and check out the latest changes on your site. Learn how here.
3. Be patient
It can take time for Google to scan your website and update their index. Even if you’ve already done steps one and two, you may need to wait a few days or weeks to see your updates on Google.
4. Have faith in Google
Despite what you’ve written, Google will sometimes choose different text to display on a search results page. This is why there can be a difference between the results in desktop and mobile searches for the same site. You can not override Google’s decision, but trust that — like you —Google’s goal is to display your site to people who are truly interested in what you offer.
