QZENS Gallery was conceived as a living meeting point where design, art, and creative production come together. Every corner invites visitors not only to experience a space, but also to engage with an ongoing dialogue between different disciplines.

As part of this dialogue, UNDER CONSTRUCTION, realized in collaboration with İnisiyatifsizler, can be visited at QZENS Gallery until June 9.

Rather than focusing on what is complete, the exhibition explores what is still in the process of becoming, inviting visitors to reflect on transformation, process, and possibility.

FROM OBJECT TO EXPERIENCE

At Carbon × Silicon: The Agentic Shift, presented in collaboration with A’ Design Award and hosted by Utopia. in New York, QZENS was represented by VFX artist Tuna Ünalan, who shared the creative journey behind Thorn Metamorphosis.

Designed by Yılmaz Doğan, Thorn draws inspiration from the sharp yet organic geometry of a thorn branch. What began as a lighting object evolved into a multidisciplinary narrative exploring the intersection of nature, design, digital transformation and artificial intelligence. Developed by the QZENS creative team Yılmaz Doğan, H. İbrahim Doğan and Hakan N. Türkmen in collaboration with VFX artist Tuna Ünalan and award-winning composer Yağız Oral, Thorn Metamorphosis movie extends the physical language of the object through motion, light, sound and cinematic storytelling.

From Ankara to New York, Thorn continues its journey beyond product design expanding into new forms of storytelling, collaboration and cultural dialogue.

A’ Design Award iş birliğiyle ve Utopia. ev sahipliğinde New York’ta gerçekleşen Carbon × Silicon: The Agentic Shift sergisinde QZENS’i, Thorn Metamorphosis projesinin VFX sanatçısı Tuna Ünalan temsil etti.

Yılmaz Doğan tarafından tasarlanan Thorn, dikenli bir dalın sert ama organik geometrisinden ilham alıyor. Bir aydınlatma objesi olarak başlayan hikâye, zamanla doğa, tasarım, dijital dönüşüm ve yapay zekânın kesişiminde çok disiplinli bir anlatıya dönüştü. Yılmaz Doğan, H. İbrahim Doğan ve Hakan N. Türkmen’den oluşan QZENS yaratıcı ekibinin, VFX sanatçısı Tuna Ünalan ve ödüllü besteci Yağız Oral ile birlikte geliştirdiği Thorn Metamorphosis filmi, objenin fiziksel dilini hareket, ışık, ses ve sinematik anlatım aracılığıyla yeni bir deneyim alanına taşıyor.

Ankara’da başlayan Thorn hikâyesi, bugün ürün tasarımının ötesine geçerek yeni anlatı biçimleri, disiplinlerarası iş birlikleri ve uluslararası kültürel diyaloglar içinde yolculuğunu sürdürüyor.

THORN METAMORPHOSIS
Inspired by the sharp yet organic geometry of a thorn branch, Thorn exists at the intersection of nature, material and digital transformation. Through movement, light, sound and cinematic storytelling, Metamorphosis transforms the physical language of the object into an immersive visual experience.

Created with VFX by talented artist Tuna Ünalan and an original score composed by award-winning musician Yağız Oral, the animation was honored with the Silver Award at the A’ Design Award & Competition held in Como, Italy. It was later selected for Carbon × Silicon: The Agentic Shift, hosted by Utopia. in New York a platform that brings production processes into an intellectual framework through ongoing collaborations with leading academic institutions such as Harvard, Pratt Institute and Columbia University. More than a product film, Thorn Metamorphosis explores the evolving relationship between organic form, artificial intelligence and contemporary production culture. It proposes a new narrative in which design no longer remains static, but continuously transforms into experience.

THORN in New York.
The Thorn Metamorphosis animation has been selected for Carbon × Silicon: The Agentic Shift, an exhibition taking place in New York between May 23–29, 2026, hosted by Utopia., a platform that brings production processes into an intellectual framework through ongoing collaborations with leading academic institutions such as Harvard, Pratt Institute and Columbia University.

Inspired by the organic structures of nature, Thorn evolves beyond a physical object into a multi-layered experience shaped through light, movement, sound and digital transformation.

As the visual and conceptual extension of this narrative, the Thorn Metamorphosis animation with VFX by Tuna Ünalan and an original score composed by award-winning musician Yağız Oral, was honored with the Silver Award at the A’ Design Award & Competition held in Como, Italy in 2025.

Representing QZENS at the panel discussions, Tuna Ünalan, the VFX artist behind the Metamorphosis animation will take the stage to share insights into digital production processes and Thorn’s transformation narrative on an international platform.

Bir açılış gecesi; varlık, diyalog ve henüz tamamlanmamış olanın potansiyeli etrafında şekillendi.

“UNDER CONSTRUCTION”, tamamlanmayı reddeden işlerle tasarımı bir sonuçtan çok bir süreç olarak deneyimlemeye davet ediyor. Nesneler, sohbetler ve anlar arasında mekân; yaşayan bir anlatıya dönüştü.

Bu başlangıcın parçası olan herkese teşekkürler.

QZENS ve İnisiyatifsizler’in kesişiminde ortaya çıkan bu sergi; bitmiş olanın sınırlarını değil; oluş hâlinin açık ve dürüst doğasını odağına alır.

Mekân, bir galeri olmaktan çıkar; yapım hâlinde olanın estetiğini taşıyan bir alana dönüşür.

Bu sergi bir sonuç değil, bir süreçtir.
Bir iddia değil, bir arayıştır.

Emerging at the intersection of QZENS and İnisiyatifsizler, this exhibition shifts the focus away from the limits of completion towards the openness and honesty of becoming.

The space moves beyond the conventional gallery format, transforming into an environment shaped by the raw reality of process.

This is not a presentation of a final outcome, but an unfolding in motion.

Not a statement, but an exploration.

Nothing here is complete. And precisely because of that, everything remains possible.

In this project, the real challenge was not aesthetics alone. It was building the material, system, and detail integrity that would make an upper-segment living experience possible. Custom lighting, imported marbles, solid wood claddings, lacquer applications, textile surfaces, smart home infrastructure, HVAC and control systems…

Every decision was made not only for the space to look right, but to work right. For us, comfort is not a decorative outcome. It is a whole, backed by technical intelligence, production discipline, and precise ex*****on.

Bu projede asıl mesele yalnızca estetik değildi. Asıl mesele, üst segment bir yaşam deneyimini mümkün kılacak malzeme, sistem ve detay bütünlüğünü kurabilmekti. Özel aydınlatmalar, ithal mermerler, masif ahşap kaplamalar, lake uygulamalar, tekstil yüzeyler, akıllı ev altyapısı, iklimlendirme ve kontrol sistemleri…

Her karar, mekânın yalnızca iyi görünmesi için değil; iyi işlemesi için verildi. Bizim için konfor, dekoratif bir sonuç değil. Arkasında teknik akıl, üretim disiplini ve doğru uygulama olan bir bütün.
