Presenting the Philippines' representative 🇵🇭, ASEAN Finalist, and Winner of the Popular Vote Award 🏆: The "Amara Bench" by Deya Tsyna S**o.

This piece is a profound exploration of heritage and feminine strength, created as a bench that embodies the Filipina spirit.

Its core concept is a tribute to the legacy of Filipino weavers:

🌿 Material: It uses Abacá rope, a material that is both delicate and resilient, reflecting the Filipina character.

👩‍🦳 Inspiration: The design is deeply personal, inspired by the woman weavers of the designer's hometown, Bohol, and her own Lola Beatrice.

💡 Form: The bench's graceful form echoes the flow of long hair, symbolizing the quiet strength and courage of Filipina women and preserving their craft in contemporary design.

The "Amara Bench" serves as a powerful honor, weaving a legacy of resilience and beauty for future generations.

Presenting Indonesia's representative 🇮🇩, and one of the 5 Finalists for the ASEAN Award 🌏: The "SULUR RENJANA Chair" by Vonny Kornellya.

This piece is a profound exploration of cultural narrative, created as a chair that embodies Indonesian heritage and sustainable materials.

Its core concept is the fusion of local materials with traditional storytelling:

🌿 Material: It uses rattan, a sustainable, durable, and uniquely flexible material deeply rooted in Indonesian tradition.

🐌 Inspiration: The design is directly inspired by the beloved East Javanese folktale "Keong Emas" (Golden Snail), a story of love and devotion.

💡 Form: Vonny translates this narrative into the chair's flowing, organic shape, reflecting the snail's spiral shell—a symbol of continuity and connection.

The "SULUR RENJANA Chair" serves as a powerful tribute, bridging Indonesian storytelling and local craftsmanship with a sustainable, contemporary vision.

Journey to Hanoi 🇻🇳 with AFDA ASEAN Finalist, Thahn Huyên Trân,
and her stunning "Cyclo Chair."

This piece is a moving tribute to the 1920s Vietnamese rickshaw (cyclo), a symbol of elegance and history. 🚲

Inspired by life in Hanoi—from bustling markets to family time—Thahn Huyên reinterprets the cyclo's iconic backrest to create a feeling of "traveling in the past."

Sustainability is at its core 💚:

♻️ Made with recycled fabrics

🌳 Uses American red oak

✨ Detailed with brass

It's a beautiful balance of cultural heritage, modern elegance, and eco-conscious design.

Following our talk with the AFIC Chairman, let's celebrate the incredible talent from the ASEAN Furniture Design Award (AFDA) Thailand Round! 🇹🇭✨

Meet the 2nd and 3rd place winners and their inspiring concepts:

🥈 2nd Place: "nana"

Designers: Watcharavit Chanyakul & Siriwan Wattanajindawong
📍.things

💡 The Concept: A story of Southeast Asia. Inspired by the culture of sitting on the floor and in rice fields, this versatile beanbag set is designed for sitting close to nature.

🌾 The Materials: It beautifully combines rice straw (an agricultural byproduct!) with the traditional patterns of "pa-khao-ma" (loincloth) textiles.

🥉 3rd Place: "Arun"

Designers: Sirayuth Nantavit & Archawit Chaisirithanya
📍

💡 The Concept: "Arun" means "Dawn" 🌅 – representing a new dawn for traditional Thai weaving, making it exciting for a new generation.

✨ The Materials: It uses synthetic rattan to create a futuristic, "floating fabric" form that shines like classic Thai textiles, blending old and new.

A huge congratulations to both teams for their creativity and for breathing new life into cultural traditions! 👏
