We are honored to welcome a delegation from the European Union to the Women and Girls Safe Space in , where they witnessed firsthand how women and girls are being supported and empowered.

From handmade products crafted by women in livelihood programmes to inspiring stories of strength and hope, the visit showcased how safe spaces empower women and girls to build brighter futures.

✨ من أنا؟ ومن أريد أن أكون؟ ✨

أسئلة حملتها الفتيات إلى جلسات نادي اليافعات في مركز مدى بمدينة سلمية، لتتحول إلى رحلة لاكتشاف الذات و بناء الثقة وصناعة الأحلام.

من خلال الحوار والأنشطة التفاعلية، تعرفت جنى (14 عاماً) و ماسة والعديد من الفتيات على قدراتهن بشكل أفضل، و اكتسبن مهارات جديدة، و وجدن مساحة آمنة للتواصل و تكوين صداقات جديدة و تبادل الخبرات.

💬 تقول جنى:
"أصبحت أكثر ثقة بخياراتي.. كنت أتمنى لو استمرت جلسات النادي لفترة أطول."

يواصل مركز مدى، أول مساحة آمنة للنساء والفتيات في مدينة #سلمية، توفير بيئة داعمة تساعد النساء و الفتيات على تعزيز ثقتهن بأنفسهن، و تنمية مهاراتهن، و رسم مستقبل أكثر إشراقاً من خلال التعاون بين مؤسسة الآغا خان للخدمات الصحية و صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان.

During her 1st pregnancy, Maha relied on private clinics for check-ups. But by her 2nd pregnancy, rising financial hardship made that increasingly difficult.

“My husband can barely secure our daily needs,” says Maha, a mother of three.

That changed when she heard about Al-Lu'lu'ah Clinic in city. Funded by the European Union, the clinic has become a lifeline for women like Maha.

Since the beginning of 2026, this clinic has delivered nearly 8,000 health & protection services to women and families across urban and rural Al-Hasakah.

Through sustained support, UNFPA and are helping ensure that life-saving health and gender-based violence services remain accessible to those who need them most in Syria.

“All I could think about was saving my life and my family before it was too late,” says Abu Farouq, recalling the moment he fled his home as the River flooded large parts of & Deir ez-Zor, destroying homes, crops, and livelihoods.

Now displaced, Abu Farouq and over 40 families are sheltering in a collective center in , facing harsh living conditions after losing everything.

In response to this crisis, UNFPA, in cooperation with its partner GOPA, has set up a clinic inside the shelter, providing life-saving reproductive health services, psychosocial support, protection services, and hygiene kits—bringing essential care to those who need it most.

"كل ما فكرت به في تلك اللحظة هو أن أنجو بحياتي مع عائلتي قبل فوات الأوان"... بهذه الكلمات يروي أبو فاروق لحظات فراره من منزله الذي غمرته مياه نهر الفرات و التي اجتاحت مناطق واسعة في محافظتي الرقة و دير الزور، تاركة وراءها دماراً طال البيوت و حقول القمح و الخضروات.

بعد أن فقد كل شيء، وجد أبو فاروق و أكثر من أربعين عائلة ملاذاً في مركز إيواء بمدينة دير الزور، حيث يواجهون ظروفاً معيشية بالغة الصعوبة.

استجابة لهذه لأزمة، افتتح صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان،و بالشراكة مع بطريركية أنطاكية وسائر المشرق للروم الأرثوذكس، عيادة داخل مركز الإيواء تعمل على مدار الأسبوع، لتوفير خدمات الصحة الإنجابية المنقذة للحياة، و خدمات الحماية و الدعم النفسي و توزيع حقائب النظافة الشخصية، بهدف التخفيف من آثار الأزمة على السكان، و لا سيما النساء و الفتيات.
