Without the support, guidance, and deep-rooted connection of Chin Swee Caves Temple in Genting, there would be no Peng Lai Dian Singapore as we know it today. 🙏🏻

清水祖师有徒弟吗？

清水祖师的故事，不只是一位祖师的修行，也是一段由弟子继续守护下去的传承。

相传祖师初到张岩山时，那里只有几间简陋草庵。陪伴在他身边的两位亲传弟子——杨道、周明，与祖师一同披荆斩棘、开辟道场，一步一步奠定后来清水岩的基础。

祖师圆寂后，这份缘分并没有结束。
弟子杨道落发为僧，继续留守清水岩，照看香火，让前来敬奉祖师的信众始终有所依归。

从一间草庵，到后来香火绵延的清水岩；
从师徒同行，到弟子守灯。

祖师虽去，香火有人守；
一代人的愿，也因此被下一代继续传了下去。🙏

Did Qingshui Zushi have disciples?

According to tradition, two of his closest disciples, Yang Dao and Zhou Ming, accompanied him in the early days of Qingshui Yan, helping clear the land and establish the foundations of the sanctuary.

After Qingshui Zushi’s passing, Yang Dao remained at Qingshui Yan and continued tending its incense and worship.

From master to disciple, the flame was quietly passed on — and the legacy continued.

清水祖师的师传是谁？｜Who Was Qingshui Zushi’s Master?

七岁出家之后，清水祖师并没有停下求法的脚步。

听闻大静山明禅师道行高深，他慕名前往拜谒，随师修行。三年间潜心研读佛典、静坐参禅，直至学有所成。

临别之际，明禅师将衣钵传予祖师，并嘱咐他以种种方便法门利益众生。此后，祖师走出山门，将所学化作一生的行动——修桥、施药、祈雨济世。

一段师徒因缘，
不仅成就了一位修行者，
也开启了清水祖师日后慈悲济世的一生。🙏

Who was Qingshui Zushi’s master?

After becoming a monk at a young age, Qingshui Zushi continued his search for deeper Buddhist teachings. He later studied under Chan Master Ming at Da Jing Shan, spending three years immersed in Buddhist scripture and meditation.

Upon completing his training, he took leave of his master and began a lifelong journey of serving the people — building bridges, providing medicine, and praying for rain.

A bond between master and disciple became the beginning of a legacy of compassion.

一炷香，一份敬意；
一声诵念，一份祝愿。

中元普渡法会圆满举行。
从诵经礼忏、虔诚供奉，到普施祈愿，每一道仪轨，都承载着对先人的追思，也寄托着对众生的慈悲。

愿以此次法会功德，
回向历代先祖、冤亲债主及十方众生，
愿离苦得乐，得生善处；
亦祈愿现世眷属平安顺遂、福慧增长。🙏

法会虽已圆满，
感恩与善念，仍在延续。

清水祖师为什么法号叫「普足」？

一个名字，有时也藏着一个人一生要走的路。

相传清水祖师学成之后，向师父明禅师辞别，准备下山弘法济世。

临别之际，师父嘱咐他：

「要用种种方便法门，让一切众生都能得到满足与安顿。」

而「普足」二字，也由此而来。
「普」，是普遍众生；
「足」，是满足、安顿。

短短两个字，却像是一句伴随一生的嘱托——
愿所行之处，皆能利益众生；
愿有需要之人，都能得到照顾。

后来清水祖师修桥铺路、施药救人、为民解忧。
回头再看，「普足」不只是一个法号，也像是他一生所践行的方向。🙏

Why was Qingshui Zushi given the Dharma name “Pu Zu”?

Legend has it that when Qingshui Zushi completed his training and prepared to leave the mountain, his master gave him a final instruction: to use every skilful means available so that all beings might find sufficiency and peace.

From these words came the Dharma name “Pu Zu” — “Pu” referring to all beings, and “Zu” to sufficiency and contentment.

More than a name, it became a lifelong calling:
to serve, to help, and to bring comfort to those in need.

中元普渡法会｜一念慈悲，一份感恩 🙏
Zhong Yuan Pu Du Ceremony

香烟袅袅，梵音声声。
一年一度的中元普渡法会圆满举行。

从供品筹备、诵经祈福，到每一炷香、每一份心意，
我们以虔诚追思先人，也为众生祈愿平安。

普渡，不只是一场仪式。
它所传递的，是慈悲、感恩与分享——
慎终追远，也珍惜当下。

愿逝者安息，生者平安。
愿这一份善念与祝福，继续传递下去。🙏

Amid the fragrance of incense and the chanting of prayers, our annual Zhong Yuan Pu Du Ceremony came to a meaningful close.

Through offerings, prayers and every heartfelt gesture, we remember those who came before us and pray for peace and blessings for all.

Pu Du is more than a ritual.
It carries the values of compassion, gratitude and sharing — remembering the past while cherishing the present.
