1. Improve the analog APRS RX.
2. Resolve the issue that cross band repeat only passes audio in one direction in analog.
3. Improve the issue that “The digital monitor function on the 168 is far more effective and pics up way
more than the 890UV.”
4. Resolve the issue that “Online Alert in group call 1.04 D890 not working”.
5. Resolve the issue that “Sending a DTMF code from the "Analog Address Book" only works in VFO A
(upper VFO). On VFO B it simply does nothing.”
6. Improve the AM air band scan speed.
7. Resolve the issue that radio can’t decode 2Tone when frequencies are close together (e.g., 18.5Hz
gap).
8. Resolve the issue that BT03 wireless microphone doesn’t work well.
9. Resolve the issue that 890UV doesn’t allow time zone +9:30 and +10:30.
10. Modify the scan groups 50 channels limit to 100 channels limit.
11. Some user may have the APRS/NR version null after the NR board updating and can’t enter into NR
update mode again. Engineer modifies the firmware and adds a new mode to force the radio enter into
NR board updating by pressing PF1+ PF3 and power on radio.
12. Resolve the issue that radio shows “Flash Error !! Check & Change” after the firmware upgrade.
13. Improve the BT KISS TNC function to work with APRSDroid.
14. Many user report the D890UV fails to connect on the first two PTT attempts when use a duplex
MMDVM hotspot, especially when the MMDVM hold time set to 3-5s.
After the checking here, we found out that when the duplex MMDVM nearly reaches its hold time
4S, for example at 3.8 seconds it receives a repeater activation signal sent from the radio, the duplex
hotspot will reply with a synchronization signal. The radio receives the synchronization signal and start
transmission, however, there is a certain delay in sending the signal from pressing PTT to start
transmitting. The hotspot already disconnects before it receives the transmission from the
radio, resulting in the inability to forward the signal.
This issue can’t be resolved by the D890UV firmware modification.
Recommend changing the MMDVM Duplex Hotspot Board setting as follows:
