About the brand

DAM is about design, craft and furniture. Between tradition and modern times, the brand combines materials and traditional techniques with creative and innovative drawing. It appeals to emotions, simplicity and quality of life, in harmony with nature and society. The portuguese culture and the common everyday things are our inspiration to the development of pieces that adapt thems

elves to children, youngsters and adults. Each piece results from synergies between designers, artisans and the industry. This way, we build the bridge between Economy and Culture as we renew a collective heritage that continues genuine and therefore, contrasting. Our goal is to valorize and promote Portuguese identity throughout the world. Designers

Hugo Silva and Joana Santos develop integrated Design solutions, involving strategic thinking, technology and identity. Graduated in Design from the University of Aveiro, their areas of intervention include equipment design, graphic design and web interface design. The passion to develop new objects and brands led them to be co-founders of the DAM. Hugo does not relieve the sketchbook and seeks inspiration in the common everyday things to his drawings. Joana has a special taste for the graphic design and craft and in the work process does not dispense a practical approach. Together, they build experiences and narratives that foster the communication and dissemination of projects. They explore emotions through forms, colours, materials and technologies. They take advantadge of the humour and everyday things in order to generate enjoyment and cultural knowledge. Their motivation is the satisfaction and interaction with people!

, part of Unicorn Factory Lisboa, is a key innovation hub in the Beato Innovation District. On the first floor, in Room Cookie 1, a unique testament to the site’s industrial past is preserved: a mid-1950s biscuit-making machine and continuous production line. By occupying the former biscuit production room, the exhibition transforms the space into an integral part of the curatorial narrative—a site-specific installation that embodies the full cycle of material transformation.

After 25 years, the first cork, called "virgin cork," is carefully removed ("desboia"). After 9 more years, the second harvest ("secundeira") takes place. Only after an additional 9 years can third cork be obtained ("amadia"), suitable for cork stoppers. This cycle repeats every 9 years, using the harvested cork for stoppers. Any leftover cork, including virgin and secundeira, is used in various products made from crushed cork.

The cork fabric is a natural cork sheet with surface finishing. This material is organic, waterproof, abrasion and fire resistant, soft to touch, durable, stitchable, anti- bacterial, hygienic and easy to clean.
