Brewing without Coffee Maker

Cowboy Coffee - Instructions

1. First, measure out your desired amount of water. If you’re just making a cup for yourself, keep it standard and go for 12 ounces, filling the measuring cup to about 13 ounces to account for evaporation and coffee absorption.

2. Measure your desired amount of ground coffee. About one tablespoon of grounds per 5 ounces. Combine water and coffee grounds in saucepan.

3. Set the saucepan or kettle over medium-high heat on a stovetop or over an open flame – until it boils

4. About 45 seconds after boiling, stir the mixture thoroughly. Shake loose grinds so they wont get stuck to the sides of the saucepan.

5. After two minutes of boiling, remove the mixture from heat. Let it settle for a bit until all the grinds sink to the bottom. Let the mixture continue to brew for approximately three minutes.

6. Pour the coffee into a cup.
You can use a ladle or a strainer to ensure your cup is not filled with to many grinds.

Pour and enjoy!
