Montessori de Sto. Niño of Meycauayan

Montessori de Sto. Niño of Meycauayan www.montessoridestonino.org We are Located at #68 Aries Street, cor. Scorpio Street Phase 3B, Sto. In 1994, the founder of the school, Mr. Norberto G. Julie M.

Mapoy felt a powerful call to put up an educational institution in his new-found community, Sto. Niño, Meycauayan. This call was prompted by his dream to establish an institution, which will provide quality education not only to his son but also to the children in his community and the neighboring towns as well. After a series of consultation with relatives and well-meaning friends, a Board of Tru

stees was formed on April, 1994, composed of the following:
Norberto G. Mapoy -------------- Chairman/President
Erlinda C. Mapoy ----------------- Vice President/for Finance
Gina Mapoy Cruz ----------------- Secretary/ Treasurer
The school was constructed on 30\90 sq. meters lot on Aries St., corner Scorpio St., Phase 3B Sto. Niño Village, Meycauayan, Bulacan. It is one kilometer away from areas of recreation, marketplace, stores, place of worship and the traffic highway. The three-door apartment owned by the family was converted into self-contained classrooms, which housed 50 pupils. It had 47 pre-schoolers, 2 pupils in Grade 1 and 1 pupil in Grade 2 for the total of 50 in its first year of operation upon DECS approval. After 2 months of operation, the Chairman/President had to leave for the United States with his family as immigrants. The school was left with only Ms. Erly Mapoy and Ms. Gina Mapoy and a friend to run it. Luckily, Ms. Micosa, a younger sister came back home to Meycauayan. She was requested by her sister to serve as a school administrator. From then on, this institution flourished and bloomed as it is today. Classrooms are air-conditioned, furniture and facilities are child sized and designed to their standards. Materials necessary for Montessori teaching methods had been meticulously prepared. To achieve maximum productivity and effectiveness, a maximum of 15 pupils per class in the CASA department and 25-27 students per class in the elementary department had been implemented. Ms. Micosa and some teachers attended the Montessori Seminar Workshop at I.S. Montessori, Bocaue under the guidance of Ms. Josefina.V. Santiago in 1996. The year that followed, Ms. Santiago became the school academic consultant thereafter the school Principal. School Year 1998-1999 was the period that marked the steady and rapid growth of its enrolment. Additional floors and rooms of the building were constructed. These structures completed the need for the other school facilities such as a library, a laboratory, computer room, clinic, work education, and home economics rooms, canteen and administrative office. The school is now on its way to progress. It began to be affiliated with the American Montessori Society in New York in 1996., that gave us updated and relevant information about the Montessori methods of teaching. Student population had increased every year, which gave way for the Board of Trustees to put up additional floors; the third floor and the rooftop where the students were encouraged to do their physical activities. The high school department was opened in 2000 for our first group of Grade VI graduates.. Further plans were made such as curriculum innovation under the supervision of Ms. Aurea Hizon, this time for first year high school that would bridge the gap between elementary and high school levels. The school then was able to secure permit from the DECS. Thus, the high school department started. The school curriculum and program of the institution are continuously updated to meet the increasing demand for excellence. Pi M. Nicolas took over the stewardship of the school where she restudied, redefined and modified and enriched the high school curriculum. From 10 fourth year students in 2004-2005, 13 students last school year 2005-2006
and 25 students graduated this school year 2006-2007. 100% passed the college entrance test of prestigious colleges and universities in Metro Manila (UP, DE LA SALLE, UST, MAPUA, UE etc.). Teachers and staff are continuously attending seminars to keep abreast of recent educational trends. Some of them are taking up Masters Degree in Education to professionally upgrade themselves during summer. The school hopes and prays that it could maintain its status as one of the best educational institutions in Bulacan. More and more parents trust this institution for academic, moral and spiritual development of their children.

MDSN had its ballet program that had run from April 17-30,2026, facilitated and instructed by Ma’am Claire Aguilos-Roca.

Today, The ballet recital was held at the MDSN gymnasium where our cute MDSN ballerinas showcased their creative and graceful moves.
