Currently on exhibit at Jia CURATED is Bato Bato Stick. A collection that draws from the resourcefulness and imaginative play of childhood in a pre-digital era.
It revisits these formative experiences through a composition of assorted stone forms and wooden poles. By reinterpreting humble, everyday materials, the works evoke themes of play, memory, and invention, reflecting on how creativity emerges from the simplest of resources. Designed by Rita Nazareno and Gabriel Lichauco of NazarenoLichauco the chair, stool and coat rack are made by L A M A N A using solid beech wood and rattan wicker detail. Soon to be available in our catalog along with other pieces that will complete the collection.

A small occasional chair of basic construction that is designed to be made in the simplest way possible. The chair has a sculptural sensibility and is in keeping with the original brief. Designed by British-Canadian designer , the chair only requires 90-degree cuts in its construction and is screwed together using the signature screws found across the Ishinomaki Laboratory family of products. Made from solid wood, the design is sturdy, stable, and has a very small footprint. It’s ideal for small spaces, as a place to stop, perch, and have a few moments of reflection.
