These are four-panel interior doors, constructed using wedged mortise and tenon joints. Close up, you can see the details of the wooden joint. These are made from poplar - a strong and lightweight wood. They are labour intensive, requiring about 20 hours of work for one door!

This is a mortising machine - thought to be around 100 years old. Its sole purpose? To make square or rectangular holes. Tim is making some old fashioned wooden doors with through and wedged mortise and tenon joints, and therefore this massive piece is indispensable. Refinishing a coffee table! The video is giving me ASMR 💆‍♀️ soooo satisfying 😌

We have had this table for 15 years, and for the last few years it has lived outdoors in the elements. No worries - it can be sanded down and re-oiled to look better than new in a matter of minutes.
