Maximising form and function.
For this compact family bathroom my clients were really hoping to create a more usable space that catered for all their family members.
To start off I moved the sink to one side to create a larger bench space for using appliances (hair dryer etc) and makeup. This also meant we could maximise usable drawer width as plumbing was kept out of the way. movento drawers were used to ensure there is heaps of underbench storage with box sides to keep anything from falling out or tipping over.
bench top and splashback means no messy grout lines to worry about just wipe and walk away. (Perfectly cut by )
The mirror faced wall cabinet has two doors behind the sink for easy access when standing up close while the right hand side is a single door allowing better visual for glamourising ones self. LED down lights in front of the face keep pesky shadows at bay.
Finally the futura birch ply with exposed edging detail provides a quality finish that will last a very long time and compliments the timber walls that feature through the house.

Offcut oddities…
One big issue with any manufacturing process is the management and reduction of waste!
Today I made the first step in a plan I have been working on for a while, to design and build some simple everyday items using my offcuts to reduce what goes to landfill and have their own little function in life.
Not a glamorous start, but a tidy new addition to the workshop bathroom.
