FAQ
Are you a Licenced Building Practitioner? No, so I cannot carry out any structural work to a property or anything that will affect the weather-tightness. However, I do have 10 years’ experience in the building industry as an Architectural CAD Draughtsman and I know my way around NZS3604 and the Building Code, so I know when my scope of work as a handyman ends and when the work will require a LBP (licenced building practitioner). No, I’m not a licenced electrician. I can install anything that has a plug attached to it and there are certain types of light fittings and shades that attach to the ceiling rose that I can install as they don’t require access to the wiring. Why don’t you paint roofs or two story buildings? Health and Safety at work requires all contractors working on roofs or properties greater than one story, which cannot be accessed safely from a step ladder or platform to have scaffolding, safety rail and netting. Therefore, I only do walls, windows, soffits and fascias for single story buildings which can be easily accessed on all sides.
