Jim and I undertook a restoration project to renovate an oak table for a family member. The table, having been exposed to the elements in an open shed on the West Coast, necessitated renovation. The veneer, damaged by cracking and peeling, required replacement. We sourced recycled veneer from old wardrobes and then stripped and oiled the table to complete the restoration. Although the photograph appears somewhat unnatural due to the background, I utilized AI to conceal the workshop clutter.

The finished result is now a prominent feature in my client's new home. They are a pair of chairs that have been part of the family for some time. The treasures I discovered serve as proof of their extensive use over the years. They have been reupholstered in a sumptuous velvet.
All ready for the next generation to enjoy.

So we have been super slack at posting it’s been a while, not good at this social media stuff but here goes.
Photo 1 is the before, your classic 1980/90s arm chair which was showing its age but had good bones, time for a face lift.
Photo 2, my client had the vision and we put it together.
The fabric is a wool plaid by The Millshop, very classy, we extended the base and changed the legs, and for a twist we fitted rustic metal inserts to the arm fronts.
I can’t say this was a one off as there was a pair and we are super happy with the end result.
