I came across a charming wooden box during a visit to the now-closed Overflow Mayfield, a shop that was full of hidden treasures. Overflow was an adventure with every visit, an op shop in its truest form. Each trip felt like a treasure hunt, brimming with eclectic finds and hidden gems.

Despite its worn appearance, when I spotted that weathered and neglected wooden box, I immediately saw its potential. With a bit of TLC and creative vision, I’ve managed to breathe new life into something that once seemed forgotten.

So I was out the front of our house, washing down some furniture pieces we collected from my parents recently when I noticed a bench across the street on the side of the road.
Always curious about new creative possibilities and the fact that I'm a little bit nosy, I popped over and I saw potential!
With a bit of convincing hubby, he helped me drag it to our place, we went out and bought some caster wheels with brakes and now I've got myself a moveable work bench!
We are both very happy with it, what do you think?
Hubby thinks we name it Scooter, but I'm curious if there are any other suggestions?

While I've got your attention, here are a couple of highlights of things I created for our wedding.

From picking, pressing ,freezing, framing and displaying flowers, to making a light box and drawing the beautiful church and Waikonini Homestead our reception venue, to making candle sticks from old chair legs, making table numbers from vintage frames making ceiling decorations for the marquee and making flower boxes for the table settings.

Yes, I have been busy! And loved it!

Hello, lovely friends and followers!

Long time, no see! Oh, how time flies when life takes us on unexpected adventures. It's been quite the journey over the past couple of years, filled with love, new beginnings, and cherished memories. From countless camping trips to finding the man of my dreams and falling in love, to buying a home and saying "I do," life has been a whirlwind of excitement and joy. Amidst it all, my small creative business, Will O' the Wisp, has taken a bit of a hiatus as I've been busy soaking in every moment.

But guess what? I'm back, and I'm ready to dive back into the world of creativity and craftsmanship! Thanks to the unwavering support and encouragement of my amazing husband, I'm thrilled to announce that Will O' the Wisp is back in action! With more time on my hands now that the wedding planning frenzy has settled, I'm eager to dust off my tools, roll up my sleeves, and get back into the groove of recreating beautiful furniture pieces.

While I'm back into the creative scene, I need to take a more laid-back approach and still have time for my new life. That's why I've decided to take a step back from custom work for now. But fear not – there's still plenty of creativity to go around! From one-of-a-kind pieces available for sale to spontaneous creations just for the sheer joy of it!
So, stick around a little longer as I drip-feed my creative endeavors, one masterpiece at a time.

Hi all,

Sorry for the radio silence, life took a bit of a turn (for the better) and I haven't been able to work so much recently! Will O' the Wisp is still alive and I will keep going but perhaps a little slower than before 😜

Need to clear out the garage, keep an eye out for some deals coming in the near future 🕵️

On that note - here's something I recently finished, this awesome table. Its narrow profile would make it perfect for a hall or entry way table. Rustic style with distressed white base and synthetic light leather top (fabric, not good for water)

I love a good before and after picture compare and this one probably is the most dramatic to date!

This beauty is called The OG. Found by me and my wonderful friend on the side of the road, once loved, long forgotten! This had been in the garage for over a year (found just after lockdown) and this lockdown was a great chance for us to complete her.

Featuring breath taking botanical fabric with velvet accents of piping and arm and back detail. She spins, she rocks and she has a leg rest! We raised the chair 10cm so my long legs can be comfortable.

I think she's a keeper!
