At Licorice Locker, we spend a lot of time thinking about the objects that quietly shape our lives—the records we return to, the spaces we inhabit, and the ideas that stay with us long after they first appear. On the 14th of August, our founder Josh will open his first solo exhibition, PROOF OF THOUGHT.
And yes, the young face on the poster is him.
Hosted at .nz , PROOF OF THOUGHT is an exploration of the invisible moments that exist before creation: the late-night ideas, the conversations, the sketches, the doubts, the daydreams and sudden moments of clarity that slowly become something real. It is a reflection on thought itself—how imagination can take shape, how creativity moves through us, and how the mind transforms fleeting concepts into tangible forms.
Through sculpture, photography and mixed media, the exhibition invites viewers into the beautiful and often chaotic process of conceptualising an idea. It asks us to consider the endless worlds that exist within our own thoughts and the extraordinary things that can emerge when we choose to follow them.
