1. Beginners Sup Surf - Saturday 9am - $150. Lesson 2hr, 8 people max.

Meet Orewa Surf Lifesaving Club at 9am. If surf is too small lesson will move up to Te Arai approx. 1hr drive. Car pooling available

2. Advanced Surf SUP – Sunday 9am - $150. Lesson 2hr, 8 people max.
Meet Muriwai 4 x 4 entrance at 9am.

3. Presentation – Competition Surfing – Saturday 5–7.30pm- $60 places unlimited
Meet at Torbay Sailing Club, 946 Beach Rd, Waiake, North Shore
Heading out to Browns Bay for drinks and food after (not included)

DK (Daniel Kereopa) SUP Coaching - This weekend!!!

Heres the registration details for the 2 practical coaching sessions. Only 8 places available so first in first served!

Competition Surfing

DK has won 12 national titles and numerous tours across mutliple surfing disciplines including SUP Surfing. This is your chance to get tips and insights into all aspects of competition surfing and learn from the best! Topics will include:

- How improve your wave riding scores
- Developing and using effective competition strategies
- Getting into the right mind space before the comp
- General Q&A.

Where: Torbay Sailing Club, 946 Beach Rd, Waiake, North Shore
When: 5-7.30pm.

Daniel Kereopa (DK) SUP Surf Coaching

Continuing our quest to improve the level of SUP surfing around the Auckland area AK Anywhere has arranged for legend waterman and icon Daniel Kereopa (Multiple national titles and 4 series tours) to come here to give a series of coaching sessions.

The first will start THIS WEEKEND! All proceeds from the sessions will go into funding DK to go and compete in the International Surfing Associations (ISA) World SUP and Paddleboard.

Going by the current forecasts we are expecting DK to run the following sessions:

1. Beginners intro into Sup Surfing – Safely getting into the waves. Everything from equipment setup, surf etiquette, paddling out and catching waves. Mixture of on land and practical water sessions. Will run at 9am at Orewa Surf Lifesaving Club or will move up to an hour north on the east coast if the surf is too small. Cost $150 for 2 hours. Max of 8 people. Deposit $50 to secure your place refundable if the course is cancelled.

2. Advanced Surf SUP Technique – Powered bottom turns, top turns and redirects including tips for generating speed and use of the paddle for more radical turns. Will start 9am at Muriwai 4x4 Entrance. Surf expected around head high. Mixture of land and on water practice. Cost $150 for 2 hours. Max of 8 people.

3. Competition Surfing Presentation and Q&A – Understanding scoring and how to increase scores. Heat strategies. Personal strategies to perform better.
Expected to run early Saturday evening probably around 5pm for 2 hours followed by dinner and drinks. Places unlimited. Further details to follow.
