From theory to practice 🔨
A circular furniture industry requires large scale changes no one company can do alone. But what we can do, is ask ourselves how we can practice circularity in our own product development and production.
Through our research project “Rethinking Furniture”, we found that one steady source of second hand material is particle board from things like old cabinets, shelves and wardrobes. These materials are often viewed as low value, most often destined for landfill.
We are testing the potential of these materials ourselves, taking apart old cabinets to be thrown away - and finding solutions and ideas to give them new life. This is what practicing what we preach looks like!
