DUMOFFICE

DUMOFFICE DUM BV DUM is a design brand of Wiebe Boonstra and Marc van Nederpelt. Their design-driven furniture is purchased by museums all over the world.

In the late nineties Wiebe Boonstra, Marc van Nederpelt and Martijn Hoogendijk achieved international fame with their design studio DUMOFFICE. In 2008 DUM was launched. After 2013 Wiebe and Marc worked exclusively on the DUM label. The main objective of the DUM is to provide spaces with distinctive items – to embellish hotel lobbies, airports, business lounges and waiting rooms with outspoken des

ign. Classics such as the Unkle chair and Delay bench are part of the DUM collection, but also new additions like the Beech Collections and Pleat lamps. All with a recognizable DUM-signature: a bit oversized, playful, colourful with the human in mind.

Our Story

Designers Wiebe Boonstra and Marc van Nederpelt are the men behind Amsterdam-based furniture brand DUM. Their chairs, tables, stools and armchairs are used to create contemporary workplaces. DUM’s sustainable furniture comes in vivid colours and is usually slightly oversized, with a robust, solid feel. It’s a style that is perfectly suited to large spaces and buildings. Spaces come to life, people connect, and ideas are born.

The desks are available in lengths up to eight metres: an idea inspired by (design) studios where people collaborate on large tables. The collection also features large, long and circular standing tables, as well as privacy chairs. These allow for variation and the creation of a healthier working environment.

DUM furniture can be found at the offices of organisations including Universal Music, Booking.com, Amazon, Pinterest, Coca Cola, Obvion, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Philips, DSM, Frame Magazine, Wageningen University, TNO, BDO Accountants, Yacht and BNN-VARA.

Beech wood is used for the majority of DUM’s pieces. This sustainable, hard timber is perfect for bending and use in furniture making. The wood is grown in sustainable, managed forests in neighbouring countries. In these forests, more trees are always planted than are chopped down.
