Belén X HuisVeendam | FIBRE WALLS

Belén reveals their latest projects:, FIBRE WALLS in collaboration with HuisVeendam during DDW ’24, on 20-22 October.And AGAPĒ in collaboration with Kathedraaldenkers
These two research driven interior projects showcase textile architecture for a sustainable, adorning future of church buildings and other monumental structures.

During Dutch Design Week ‘24, the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (RCE) will be exhibiting eight solutions for a sustainable and resilient future of monumental buildings at DOMUSDELA.
There will be a varied program, and the results of the (scalable) spatial interventions, technical installations, and material applications for monuments will be presented.

Exhibition opening hours: 20 Oct. 1PM-6PM, 21 Oct. 11AM-6PM, 22 Oct. 11AM-3PM - Entrance is for free (no DDW ticket required).

More about the projects:

Inspired by the rich history of churches draped with (liturgical) textiles, Belén created textile layers and elements that seamlessly integrate within the monument. Maintaining the historical architecture and beauty remain intact, whilst introducing a contemporary touch that references and honours the past to incorporate lessons for a transformational future.

The floor of The Growing Pavilion, together with many other furniture objects displayed inside, is made entirely out of cattail, harvested in Groningen.
The warmth and rich content of those bio-laminates are as intense as their visual beauty.
