All Kleinhandel members have an aim to make in an impact. Correctbook is one of our finest with their aim to give away 1 million Correctbook booklets within 5 years to boost and enable education in the world. Correctbook is an erasable booklet and gives away 10-25 % of their profit to reach this goal and make a real contribution.
Critical as they are, they decided to evaluate their impact model and decided to change it. Instead of shipping their booklets to Africa, they decided to locally produce them to boost the local economy and reduce their footprint. On top of that, they are developing a set of products around the booklet to make sure students can use this booklet for at least 4 years! Great work!

Dit is een hele belangrijke en unieke foto voor ons. Het allereerste Correctbook geproduceerd in Afrika zelf.

Het jaar 2018 was voor ons het jaar om eens goed te kijken naar onze impact in Afrika. Correctbook wil analfabetisme tegengaan door kinderen van schrijfmateriaal te voorzien dat jaren meegaat. Maar we hebben nagedacht over hoe onze impact in Afrika beter kan.

Waarom verschepen we boeken vanuit Nederland? En hoe zorgen wij ervoor dat de kinderen door kunnen schrijven als de inkt op is? Is ons doel om zo veel mogelijk boeken te doneren of willen we met onze boeken ook meewerken aan duurzame ontwikkelingen in het land zelf? Dat laatste natuurlijk!

Daarom hebben we een korte stop gezet op het verschepen van de Correctbooks vanuit hier, om eerst stappen te zetten naar een verbeterde impact. En daarin hebben we de afgelopen maanden heel snel resultaat.

Hier zie je de allereerste Correctbook ooit gemaakt in onze productiefaciliteit in Rwanda.

Daarnaast zijn we bezig met het ontwikkelen van een "ontwikkelingspakket" met Correctbook schrijfmaterialen, waarmee kinderen vier jaar lang kunnen schrijven. Zo'n pakket bevat een Correctbook, een pen, een doekje en een inktpot om de pen te kunnen bijvullen.

Een stevige verpakking moet ervoor gaan zorgen dat de producten intact blijven tijdens het vervoer van school naar huis en vice versa.

Binnenkort onthullen wij twee nieuwe samenwerkingen in Afrika én ons eerste project door Correctbook Rwanda, met maar liefst 10.000 ontwikkelingspakketten.

Is het al bijna zomer?
