𝐋𝐚𝐛 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 🔬
We are back with our Lab series! Our lab is a key factor in daily practice. In our lab series we want to highlight three crucial analyzes that we perform in our laboratory. These analyzes and the data they provide ensure that we can continue to deliver high-quality products. This time we will zoom in on ICP analysis.

𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐚 📊
The second part of the three in our lab series deals with Inductively Coupled Plasma analysis, also known as analysis. This analysis is a tool to measure the elements in a sample from the original product.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤? 👨‍🔬
ICP works with an argon plasma (a green flame), into which the atomized liquid sample, which is a cross-section of the original product, is injected. The sample ionizes in the plasma and the ions emit light at different characteristic wavelengths, which are then accurately measured and displayed using associated software.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐞? 📈
Through this analysis, we can check the presence and concentration of "chemical" elements, such as phosphorus, sulfur, sodium and potassium. The analysis will tell this accurately, in terms of "parts per million" (ppm). To give you an indication of the level of detail of the measurements: One ppm is a thousand times smaller than one permille

By measuring as precisely as possible what is in the product, we can can assure our clients that we deliver high end products, that represent quality and reliability, which is of course fundamental within our activities.

𝐆𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲 📊
The first of the three in our lab series deals with gas chromatographic analysis, also known as analysis. Through this analysis, we can gain insight into the fatty acid composition of each product.

In the process of analyzing, the GLC instrument is capable of separating the fatty acids and thereby displaying the proportion of each chain in the fatty acid composition in detail. All this essential for our feed fat blends as well as blends for biodiesel and BHO purposes.

In this way we know exactly what we buy and therefore also what we sell. This is of course in the interest of the customers and therefore also in ours. This is exactly why we as attach great importance to meticulous analysis and therefore quality control.

While shooting new - incoming - content for our various channels, we recently also did a very exciting photo shoot together with BURO RUW at Marine Oil Tank Terminal. We don't want to withhold a selection from the collection!

SAFETY FIRST ✅ 🚛

With the daily loading and unloading of many tank cars, Marine Oil uses top quality safety cages - made and mounted by WLT - for the safety of the employees and drivers.

The control of the platforms is all automated and therefore part of a very efficient process. All this is part of our high end Tank Yard '100' and Tank Yard '200'.

We have no fewer than 6 of these platforms, which means that we are able to load and unload several trucks at a time. This ensures that we have a high daily capacity in terms of the number of tank cars that we can load and unload.

In our constant pursuit of providing the best possible quality and service, this is an important factor in the daily process.

ℹ️🛢 Lets talk about UCO!

An important part of our activities revolves around the recycling of Used Cooking Oil (UCO). This is as sustainable as it gets, because this is a process that precedes the reusing of a waste product.

We receive UCO in different shapes and sizes; from barrels and IBCs to trucks and flexi tanks. Before moving on to storage and blending in our tanks; All this UCO is extensively and meticulously analyzed in our own certified laboratory to ensure that the product meets our (and therefore our clients) high quality standards.

If this is the case, we store the product in our tanks and in this process we blend according to the required specifications of our customers. The most prominent application of this product is in high quality second generation biodiesel. This makes it a highly demanded product as an alternative to mineral oil.

🎉🍾 ANNIVERSARY POST!

Today one year ago, Marine Olie and BURO RUW discussed plans for a possible collaboration in the field of social media. One year - and quite a bit of content - later, we've come to the conclusion, that we can speak of a successful partnership. To mark this milestone, BURO RUW has once again provided us with a nice video, which is a small recap of joining forces for a year. Cheers to the continuation of a fruitful collaboration!

An important part of the service we offer, is speed and quality with regard to transport and logistics. The short lines that we have been able to create with our transport partners, have also been extended with our own tank car and driver.

In the context of water transport we and our clients also benefit from a boat that sails for MOH at a 24/7 time chartering bases, and thus transports, loads and unloads our products at a variety of locations.

Furthermore, our facilities are perfectly equipped to load and unload a large number of trucks and several boats per day. All the ingredients needed to create a versatility that will provide our customers with the best possible service and quality!

Much has changed since MOH took over and moved into Groot's Extractiefabriek (Wormer) in 1974. Today this ground is known to you as MOTT: Marine Oil Tank Terminal.

Over time, a lot of work has been done in this area to create new possibilities in terms of storage capacity, (un)loading and optimizing various processes around the storage and handling of our products. With this in mind, the construction of Tank Yard 100 (2016) and Tank Yard 200 (2019) is a major step forward for us.

We would like to take you on a short tour regarding the developments and progress on our factory site and so we would like to give you an overview as a "Moving Map" in order to show the development and possibilities of our company in this way.

Being efficient in logistics and transport are important conditions in the trading process that we deal with on a daily basis.

In that context, it is crucial for MOH to have access to both the certification, knowledge and infrastructure to be able to receive, unload and load boats at both our locations - in Wormer and in Moerdijk.

We can handle different types of boats. In Moerdijk we have the possibility to receive coasters and barges and in Wormer we can receive barges.

All this enables us to transport products by water in an efficient manner. This contributes to the versatility in the field of transport and service that we strive for!
