A series of furniture with discrete appearance, neutrally present in any office without distracting from the things that actually matter.

Boring Collection was conceived and developed out of dissatisfaction with the appearance of contemporary project furniture. The looks of affordable office furniture are pretty much dictated by legislation and therefore often detonate with the rest of the interior and surroundings. Boring Collection does not pretend to be more beautiful, in fact; Boring collection does not claim any attention. To t

he last detail, the furniture is a modest soft grey, and all shapes are archetypical, straightforward and discrete, with only one goal: to draw the eye to the things that actually matter. Because its not about the furniture. For the promotion of the collection visual artist duo Lernert & Sander were attracted. Not the furniture, but office life itself is given the lead in their campaign. Like the countdown to the last minute before five o'clock, and the paper wad, the universal symbol for boredom on the work floor. Also important: Boring Collection is being offered for competitive prices. The collection consists of an EN approved task chair, visitor chair, acoustic panel, low and high cabinet and four types of desks, among which a standing desk. Furthermore there's a Boring bin and a clock which, true to office culture, only shows the numbers of the liberating moment.

The Synchroon office by Space Encounters and Beyond Space organises a large open floor plan around dense planted borders, tiled in white and filled with full-grown trees and tropical vegetation. The greenery functions as the primary spatial divider, creating a sense of enclosure and natural rhythm within an otherwise neutral, light-filled floor plate.

Within this landscape, Boring Collection provides the working layer. Its understated desks, screens and chairs sit quietly within the planted clusters, offering a functional and visually consistent base that allows the greenery, the city views and the spatial concept to remain the dominant experience.

The most complete compact kitchen island

The Cookery is the kitchen that fits: in your home, but also with your taste and your needs. That’s in details like the slightly higher countertop, but also in the standard luxury options and the space to cook together.

And all that packed into a small and compact island, designed to hold at least as much storage as a standard kitchen and never get in each other’s way.

Most people who buy a (smaller) newly built house experience the choice of kitchen as annoying: The standard is not good enough, adaptations are very expensive and when you drop the standard you get almost nothing in return. For the developer and contractor, it’s actually not much better. They are confronted with many different choices and adjustments which in turn lead to failure costs.

With ‘The Cookery we solve this problem for everyone, the buyer gets a high-end designer kitchen with all the trimmings and has limited choice to adapt it to their taste. The contractor has the same kitchen with the same connections in every home or delivers the shell. And the developer, due to the high market value of The Cookery, can market the home higher while benefiting from low purchasing.

The Workrate office by Space Encounters introduces a layered, high-energy workplace into a generic office building, using a structural grid of white frames, yellow accents and glass partitions to create a sense of depth, openness and visual activity. Greenery, colour and transparency are used generously, giving the interior a lively and specific character without losing spatial coherence.

Within this approach, Boring Collection provides the functional base. Its soft-grey desks and screens offer a calm, consistent layer that absorbs the energy of the space rather than adding to it.

The Burgerweeshuis in Amsterdam is one of the most discussed post-war buildings in the Netherlands. Aldo van Eyck designed it as a place for children to grow up. BPD moved in and turned it into a place for adults to work. The architecture remained the main character.

Boring Collection supplied the furniture. It did not attempt to match the building’s significance, add to its history, or comment on its legacy. It simply provided desks and chairs, in grey, for people who needed somewhere to sit.

The office of Beyond Space in Amsterdam is a perfect example of work and after work sharing the same address without calling it a concept. Connected to Bar Borisov, the studio sits behind the public energy of a bar, with architecture, hospitality and office life quietly overlapping. It is a workplace where meetings can happen near drinks, ideas can survive lunch, and the furniture knows not to interrupt. Beyond Space describes its practice as mixing buildings, spaces and objects, which feels rather literal here.

Zemic Europe is a manufacturer and developer of load cells, strain gauges, and force sensors. Due to its growth, Zemic has consolidated its business activities in a new European headquarters at Rithmeesterpark in Breda. Boring Collection supplied several sets of Single and Duo workstations with screens, Netweave chairs and bins.
