Rare ‘PR’ arc lamp designed by Italian artist and designer Pirro Cuniberti for Sirrah Imola in 1970.

Better known for his work as an abstract painter and graphic artist, Cuniberti translated his distinctive visual language into this sculptural lighting design. Vintage Italian coffee table from the 1970s, executed in richly figured burl walnut with contrasting chrome and brass details in the style of W***y Rizzo.

The low square composition with rich proportions is divided into four geometric sections, framed by intersecting chromed metal and brass bands that give the table its architectural character. One section comes in a metal tray compartment for additional storage of bottles or a plant, adding a practical element to the sculptural design.

The combination of warm burl wood and polished metals is characteristic of the seventies Italian design movement of the period and closely relates to the glamorous furniture designs associated with W***y Rizzo. Striking pair of Model 6912 lounge chairs designed by German architect and designer Horst Brüning for Kill International in 1967.

The chairs feature generous black leather cushions resting within a slender chrome-plated steel frame. Curved corners soften the precise metal construction, while the low proportions give the chairs a calm architectural presence.

Brüning established his architecture and design studio in Stuttgart in 1963, where he came into contact with Kill International and designers Preben Fabricius and Jørgen Kastholm. His work for Kill International reflects the same interest in clear structures, fine leather and restrained modernist forms.

Oval marble dining table by Italian architect and designer Angelo Mangiarotti, Italy, 1970s.

The table combines a generously proportioned oval golden brown onyx marble table top with a single sculptural copper coloured cast-iron pedestal. The natural stone displays expressive natural veining in warm brown, amber, and cream tones which is characteristic for golden brown onyx marble, creating a richly varied surface that changes across the tabletop.

The relatively slender tabletop appears to float above the substantial pedestal. This contrast between the broad horizontal surface and the concentrated central support gives the table a balanced silhouette while leaving generous legroom around all sides.

T96 Boomerang executive desk, designed by Italian architect and designer Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno in 1956.

The desk is defined by its generously proportioned boomerang-shaped top, finished in a warm wood tone with a beautifully visible natural grain. Its curved and angular form creates an enveloping workspace while giving the desk a distinctive sculptural presence.

Borsani originally developed the T96 for the offices of the ENI building in San Donato Milanese. Its unusual angular shape was conceived to work within the building’s pentagonal rooms.
