Aguleri is a predominantly Catholic community in Nigeria. Villages:-Ivite, Igboezunu, Enugu, Eziagulu, Umuekete:- homeland (Enuobodo), Ivite-otu, Igboezunu-otu, Eziagulu-otu & Enugu-otu:- riverine or Aguleri-otu, located on the banks of river Omambala-Igala. Presently, Aguleri is subdivided into four main quarters: Ivite, Igboezunu, Enugu and Eziagulu with component families replicated both in Agu
leri Uno and Aguleri Otu. With the effect of colonialism and Christianity, a new settlement called Amaeze (Otuocha), founded by Eze Idigo II (Eze Rapheal Anakwuba Idigo), now exists as the urban town of Aguleri. Located on the banks of River Omambala, Igala towns (Kogi state) and Anam towns to the north, Awkuzu and Nteje towns to the south, Igbariam, Nando, Anaku & Omor towns to the east, while Umuleri and Nsugbe towns to the west.
