A 33-year old man, Wisdom Ochigbo Jideofor, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly fondling the breasts of a 14-year old girl in order to get her confuse and defiling her in the process by pe*******on.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Jideofor, has been arrested and charged for sexual assault and defilement under the Criminal Law of the State.

The incident happened between 28th and 29th September, 2025, at Leye Prat Street, Isheri area of Lagos, where they reside.

According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim, used words of mouth to hold her, fondled her breasts and she became confused before he engaged her in the act.

However, the act later got exposed to the victim’s parents and the matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

“That you, Wisdom Ochigbo Jideofor ‘m, between the 28th and 29th day of September 2025 at No. 5, Leye Prat Street, Isheri – Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault the victim ‘f 14years old by touching her breasts and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 283(2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

COUNT II:”That you, Wisdom Ochigbo Jideofor ‘m’, on the same date, and place, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did defile the victim and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

Lt. A.M. Yarima, a young Nigerian Navy officer, reportedly escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday evening. He was trailed by unidentified men dressed in black, riding in two unmarked Hilux vans with no number plates, from the NIPCO Filling Station off the Line Expressway to Gado Nasco Way around 6:30 p.m. Yarima noticed the surveillance and executed a "strategic maneuver," successfully evading the suspected assailants .

This incident comes after a tense confrontation between Yarima and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over a disputed land site in Gaduwa District. The clash, captured on video, sparked national outrage and prompted the Presidency to halt the planned demolition at the location .

Military veterans have rallied behind Yarima, condemning Wike's verbal attack on the officer and rejecting any calls for disciplinary action. Minister of Defence Mohammad Badaru Abubakar assured that no military personnel acting lawfully will be sanctioned, stating, "We will always protect officers and our armed forces personnel on lawful duty" .

However, the FCT Police Command has denied the assassination attempt, stating that no such incident was reported or recorded within the Federal Capital Territory .
